Known for his role in Spider man, Andrew Garfield arrives at Star+ Brazilian this Wednesday, 10th, with the miniseries In Heaven’s Name. Inspired by real events, the production is one of the most anticipated of 2022.

At 38 years old, Garfield interprets Jeb Pyrea Mormon police detective who tries to solve a terrible murder in the 1980s. In the series, he will be accompanied by Bill Taba (Gil Birmingham), an officer of indigenous descent.

Together, the detectives must permeate a mysterious plot, based on the book of the same name written by Jon Krakauer, whose narrative proposes to analyze the crime that shook the Mormon community in the United States. In the work, the author talks about the mysterious conditions of the murders of Brenda Wright Lafferty and your daughter Ericaof 15 months.

The real case took place in mid-1984 in the US state of Utah. At the time, mother and daughter, both Mormons, were cruelly murdered in a gruesome crime. The tragedy, then, not only mobilized a large part of the Mormon community, but also revealed a group of religious fanatics who would have committed the crime.

Based on these events, the series puts religious fanaticism in perspective as it follows the investigations of Jeb Pyre and Bill Taba. This is how detectives come across two strands of Mormon belief: that of “traditional” religious people and that of fundamentalists who used religion to pursue their own interests.

It is interesting to point out that, although the character of Andrew Garfield be just fictional, his performance has already generated a lot of expectation. That’s because the star of Spider manwas even nominated for Emmy 2022for her role in the miniseries — and if she wins, this will be her first Emmyof the actor’s career.

with script by Dustin Lance Blackthe miniseries has seven episodes and still has Billy Howle and Christopher Heyerdahl in your roster. Considered one of the biggest releases of 2022, the production will be released on Star+ this Wednesday, 10th. Check out the official teaser:
