The Alchemist and Hit-Boy announce collaborative project for the coming weeks

Collaborative album “Goldfish” and the namesake short film arrive on October 24 bringing together two hip hop production giants in an experimental project distributed by Empire

Producers The Alchemist and Hit-boy last Tuesday, 8, the launch of Goldfisha collaborative album accompanied by a homonymous short film that arrives on October 24. The project will be distributed by Wrap and unites two of the most influential names of current hip hop production in an unprecedented proposal: each artist will rhyme about beats created by the other.

The announcement came with the single “Business Merger”first sample of the album, which already presents the experimental and luxurious tone of the partnership. The range mixes the characteristic melodic refinement of The Alchemist with the percussive impact of Hit-boyrevealing a natural chemistry between historically opposite styles – the introspective underground and the Arena mainstream. Beyond the album, Goldfish will win a short film of the same name, starring the actors Danny Trejo and Simon Rex. The film, directed by itself The Alchemistaccompanies “a squad of killers disguised as carpet cleansing trying to abandon the life of crime in a confusing sequence of chaotic events.”

The launch marks another chapter of a busy year for both. The Alchemist comes from recent collaborations with Freddie Gibbs, Alfredo 2 (2025) and with Larry June and 2 Chainz, LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL (2025), reinforcing its post as one of the most prolific and respected producers of the scene. Already Hit-boywinner of three awards Grammyconsolidates its copyright after partnerships with names such as In the, Dom Kennedy and Big Sean.

Inspired by iconic projects as Jaylib (of J Dilla and Madlib), Goldfish Bet on role reversal to explore new forms of creation within hip hop. The proposal expands the dialogue between distinct schools of US production and reinforces the trend of conceptual collaborations between producers.
