Rush adds new dates and almost doubles the number of shows for 2026

Faced with “incredible demand”, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson have added 11 dates to their first tour since Neil Peart’s death

The fans of Rushstill recovering from the shock of learning that the band will be back on the road next year for the first time since the death of their drummer and lyricist Neil Peartmay have to adjust their plans for 2026 once again. Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson announced that they are practically doubling the length of their tour Fifty Something Tour in the face of “incredible demand”, adding 11 shows.

The expansion adds two shows in Los Angeles, Fort Worth, Chicago, New York and Toronto, plus an additional date in Cleveland. Mexico City continues with a single commitment. The top five markets of the US and Canada now have four shows each, while Cleveland has two.

The tour marks Lee and Lifeson’s first full shows together since the end of Rush’s last tour in 2015 and will feature the German virtuoso Anika Nilles as a drummer. Each performance will include two sets selected from a pool of 35 songs.

During a press conference where Rush announced the tour, Lee revealed that the turning point came from casual jam sessions. “We were laughing a lot and enjoying ourselves, and it was almost as if playing those songs lifted the clouds.”he said.

Lifeson said he felt invigorated by the complex material. “Being challenged with that again was very, very exciting.”he told the Cleveland audience. “And the more we started rehearsing and playing, the more I fell in love with the idea of playing again.”

The tour kicks off on June 7, 2026, at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles — the same venue where Rush played their final show with Peart on August 1, 2015. Pre-sales will begin on Monday the 13th, with general on-sale beginning October 17.
