James Cameron is far from done with the universe ofAvatars
James Cameron he dedicated many years of his life to bringing the saga he had in mind to the screen. With Avatars: Of fire and ashis preparing to reveal the third film in this franchise, which will introduce a new people. AND the director is far from wanting to leave the world of Pandora.
James Cameron has already teased what will happen next. He intends to reach out a fourth, then a fifth film Avatars After Of fire and ash. In February 2024 he even revealed that he had ideas for a sixth and even a seventh part! And that’s not all. Last July, the Canadian director explained that he intended to launch it an animated anthology series located in the world of Pandora. And, still not satisfied, now he has a new project focused on his saga.
A documentary on filmmaking soon?
Zoe Saldana lends her features to Neytiri in the franchise launched in 2009. She recently had a conversation with singer Alicia Keys for the media Beyond the noise. During the discussion he revealed this James Cameron considered creating a making-of documentaryAvatars. And the actress is enthusiastic about this idea.

According to her, a documentary like this would be an opportunity to do so“explain, meticulously, why performance capture is the most inspiring way to play”. Because it indicates that this technique relies entirely on the performance of the actors, unlike animation for which only their voice is required. Zoe Saldaña also says she was greatly influenced by the making of the films she saw at that age “10 or 11 years” and which fueled his passion for cinema.
The third film will have to be a success
It remains to be seen whether James Cameron will get his wish of making a documentary about film making Avatars. The director already is I’m not sure I can do the fourth and fifth opera of the saga. A few days ago he admitted it the third’s performance at the box office would be crucial for the future of franchising.
Despite it all, Avatar: Fire and Ash has a good chance of following in the footsteps of the previous two parts and becoming one a large box in the rooms. We’ll have to wait more than two months to know for sure. The feature film will arrive in French cinemas on December 17th.
