“Return to the rehearsal room and feel that everything is still there, that time has been waiting for us,” they wrote in the emotional message that accompanied the announcement.
The group revealed that they have been meeting in San Sebastian, their hometown, for over a year.to relive old memories and create new music. “The emotion we feel today cannot be explained in words,” they confessed, confirming that this stage will bring new songs and an international tour.
They also clarified that Pablo Benegas, the group’s historic guitarist, will not participate in the tour for personal reasons, although he will remain linked to the project. “After thirty years on the road, he decided to stop and spend more time with his family,” they explain.
Amaia’s return comes after the departure of Leire Martínezwho was the voice of the group for 16 years. Although his departure was presented as voluntary, some fans expressed mixed feelings, recalling the creative tensions that marked his final years with the group.
