Seventh edition of the independent music festival takes place at Casa Rockambole with a line-up that includes Latin Grammy nominees and bands from all over Brazil

THE 5 Bands Festival reaches its seventh edition this Saturday (25/10) with the mission of proving that Brazilian independent music is more alive and diverse than ever. Starting at 5pm, at Casa Rockambole, in São Paulo, five projects from different corners of the country will occupy the same stage to show that the national alternative scene does not fit into a single definition.

The line-up is an accurate portrait of this diversity: the flat earth brings from Curitiba the shoegaze that has already won over audiences at festivals such as Primavera Sound and opened shows for international names such as Slowdive. The Bahian Jadsa arrives with Big Holehis second album nominated for Latin Grammy in the category of Best Rock or Alternative Music Album in Portuguese Languagemixing MPB, neo-soul and a pop vibe that is unique to her. From Manaus, the Jambu it presents MANAUEROan album that incorporates the Amazonian sound into indie rock with rare authenticity. The Paulistas of Life Aquatic bring the sophisticated instrumentality of Apneahis second work, navigating between soul, jazz and trip-hop. The closing is due to the unprecedented meeting between the trio from Pará Black Sauce and the singer and songwriter Jair Naves in a joint show.

“I’ve always believed that the festival is an environment for you to meet and fall in love with a new band. Today I’m happy to be able to bring together this great team, from different regions of the country and musical styles, for a meeting on a night where music is the main protagonist”, he explains. The festival has already featured performances by Boogarins, Ale Sater, FEATHER, ZO Crizin, Lovely Cliché, YMA, Glue Trip and Hoovaranasin addition to an edition held in Rio de Janeiro.
