Jeremy Allen White is Bruce Springsteen Free me from nothing
New biopic about a music legend, Free me from nothing can be seen in French cinemas from Wednesday 22 October. The film focuses on the period of Bruce Springsteen’s life during which he recorded the album Nebraska. Disturbed by his status as an international star which he finds difficult to accept, he decides to return a much more intimate albumand record it in his room with very simple equipment.
The feature film was written and directed by Scott Cooper (Crazy heart). It is inspired by the book by Warren Zanes Deliver Me from Nothing: The Making of Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen. Jeremy Allen Whitethe star of The bearplays the singer nicknamed “The Boss”. AND Jeremy Forte (The Lords) plays his manager Jon Landau, who puts absolute trust in him and helps him achieve Nebraska.
The singer seems ready for a second film
At the recent American premiere of Free me from nothing, Variety asked Scott Cooper about it a possible sequel of his film. Referring to Sam Mendes’ ultra-ambitious project, he first joked with the phrase: “I guess if you can make four Beatles movies, you can make several Bruce Sprinsteen movies.”. According to the writer and director, Bruce Springsteen is “incredibly comfortable with the idea of someone telling a very painful chapter of their life”. Scott Cooper therefore thinks that the singer is ready to open up a little more to him to talk about another period of his life: “You should ask him, but I think he’s ready for what comes next.”.
