Guns N’ Roses returns to Brazil in 2026 as part of Monsters of Rock

Festival with no confirmed location yet is scheduled for April 4th in São Paulo; Ticket details have also not been revealed.

In the midst of his current tour of Brazil — which will also visit Cuiabá (10/31) and Brasília (11/02) —, the Guns N’ Roses revealed that he already has a date to return. The band is confirmed as the main attraction of the festival Monsters of Rock 2026which takes place on April 4th in São Paulo.

Production is by Mercury Concerts. Location and other details have not yet been revealed.

The next edition of the event is the ninth in the country, but the first to feature the American hard rock group. In terms of Brazil, however, GN’R has a long history: the visit in 2026 will be the 11th of the band’s career.

The current tour started in Florianópolis on October 21st. It passed through São Paulo on Saturday, 25th, and Curitiba on Tuesday, 28th, before the final destinations mentioned above.

Guns N’ Roses with new drummer

Guns N’ Roses’ current tour is the first with the drummer Isaac Carpenter. The former member of Awolnation, Loaded, Loudermilk and other projects occupies the vacancy left by Frank Ferrerwho left after 19 years of service.

In addition to Isaac Carpenter, Guns now has Axl Rose (voice), Slash (guitar), Richard Fortus (guitar), Duff McKagan (low), Dizzy Reed (keyboards) and Melissa Reese (keyboards and synthesizers).

Monsters of Rock

Since the 1990s, Monsters of Rock has not been held two years in a row in Brazil. Remember the history of other editions:

1st Monsters of Rock – 08/27/1994 – Pacaembu, in the capital of São Paulo, with eight attractions: KISS, Slayer, Black Sabbath, Suicidal Tendencies, Viper, Raimundos, Angra and Dr. Sin. Innovation: first themed festival in Brazil. It had live coverage on MTV Brasil.

2nd Monsters of Rock – 02/09/1995 – Pacaembu, in the capital of São Paulo, with nine attractions: Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper, Faith No More, Megadeth, Therapy, Paradise Lost, Virna Lisi, Clawfinger and Rata Blanca. Innovation: first rock festival in Brazil with its own Home Page, a Mercury Concerts and Water Brothers Productions production – initially US$35,000 was invested in this. The website was an electronic magazine with a lot of content about the attractions: reports, videos and photos. The shows were broadcast live and the artists talked to “internet users” in real time.

3rd Monsters of Rock – 08/24/1996 – Pacaembu, in the capital of São Paulo, with nine attractions: Iron Maiden, Skid Row, Motörhead, Biohazard, Raimundos, Helloween, King Diamond, Mercyful Fate and Héroes del Silencio. And an edition in Rio de Janeiro, at the Metropolitan, with three attractions: Iron Maiden, Skid Row, Motörhead.

4th Monsters of Rock – 09/26/1998 – Ícaro de Castro Athletics Stadium, in Ibirapuera, in the capital of São Paulo, with nine attractions: Slayer, Megadeth, Manowar, Dream Theater, Saxon, Savatage, Glenn Hughes, Korzus and Dorsal Atlântica.

5th Monsters of Rock – 19 and 20/10/2013 – Arena Anhembi, in the capital of São Paulo, with 15 attractions in two days of festival On the 19th: Slipknot, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Killswitch Engage, Hatebreed, Gojira and Hellyeah; on the 20th: Aerosmith, Whitesnake, Ratt, Buckcherry, Queensrÿche, Dokken, Dr Sin and Doctor Pheabes.

6th Monsters of Rock – 04/25 and 26/2015 – Arena Anhembi, in the capital of São Paulo, with 15 attractions: KISS, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne, Yngwie Malmsteen, Manowar, Steel Panther, Unisonic, Doctor Pheabes, Accept, La Tierra, Primal Fear, Coal Chamber, Rival Sons and Black Veil Brides. Motörhead canceled the show at the last minute (Lemmy had a gastric crisis).

7th Monsters of Rock – 04/22/2023 – Allianz Parque, in the capital of São Paulo, with seven attractions: KISS, Scorpions, Deep Purple, Helloween, Candelmass, Symphony X and Doro.

8th Monsters of Rock – 04/19/2025 – Allianz Parque, in the capital of São Paulo, the 30th anniversary edition of the festival had shows by: Scorpions, Judas Priest, Europe, Savatage, Queensrÿche, Opeth and Stratovarius
