Star Trek: PicardThe final season of will air in 2023 and co-showrunner Terry Matalas and the team are under pressure. season 3 bring much of the cast of the beloved series back to life the next generation and tells a story that could end many of these characters’ journeys across the universe. There’s also an obligation to try and deliver unexpected surprises and events to fans, and it seemed like Matalas almost did when he tried to get a famous player involved. Traveler character in the story.
Terry Matalas spent some time talking with him Full access to Star Trek about his work in Star Trek: Picard, and work on the final season. When it comes to incorporating ideas that may or may not make the final story, Matalas said he spent three weeks trying to fit in. TravelerNaomi Wildman in the story, but ultimately had to let it go:
It’s not a spoiler because it doesn’t happen, but Naomi Wildman does. Was there a time when something specific was happening, and what if they had to turn to an adult Naomi Wildman and it had been a very, very intense three weeks in the show why was it such a big story? And if you had 13 episodes, you would have done this, and it would be great if you could produce it because it was quite expensive. And it is difficult.
Naomi Wildman was not part of the bridge crew Star Trek: Traveler, but fans will likely remember the brave Starfleet guy who often dated Neelix and Seven of Nine. He looks like picard wanted to bring Naomi back for a key part of the adventure, and given the time she spent with Seven (who will join Starfleet in Season 3 ), the story is likely to involve her. Not as groundbreaking as bringing William Shatner back for a guest role or otherwise, but certainly one of those unexpected cameos that would thrill fans after his return.
Unfortunately, the cameo did not take place and the Star Trek: Picard The team had to find another way to do it. Terry Matalas explained that this is a common side effect of planning a season and it’s hard to burn anything until they have traced the story of the season from start to finish:
I think the key is this: we know the moves, now what are some of the chapters we desperately want to tell. How there are little things. There is a Next Gen character that I desperately wanted to bring back to life. But I didn’t want to do anything that wasn’t organic. So there is a lot of discussion. You can’t go on with your first script until you know exactly how the series finale will end.
While it might be disappointing that a character like Naomi Wildman doesn’t get reprized, it’s nice to know that Star Trek: PicardThe staff is always busy working on organic cameos. Unfortunately, there can only be a limited number of cast members in the final season, and even if there will be nice to see Geordi La Forge and Beverly Crusher again , these returns were made at the cost of the loss of the actors of the first two seasons. In the end, though, they seem to have taken a lot of care in creating a well-crafted final season, so hopefully it lives up to the hype. justifying that Michael Dorn dresses up as Worf again .
Star Trek: Picard Seasons 1 and 2 are currently available to stream with a Paramount + subscription . Season 3 is still a long way off, but there are a lot of them Emigrate shows that continue to arrive in 2022 which will easily justify the price of a subscription.
