More than 25 works feature contemporary art to be experienced, touched and investigated during the exhibition.
The Museum of Image and Sound (MIS) will open this Thursday, October 6, the visitation for the exhibition “art is good”, which will bring together installations, manipulable objects, immersive activities and videos that instigate the visitors’ perception of works by artists such as Hélio Oiticica and Lygia Clark. The exhibition is curated by Daniela Thomas and Tera Queiroz.
The selection of works also includes the artists Arnaldo Antunes, Artur Lescher, Beatriz Milhazes, Brígida Baltar, Carlito Carvalhosa, Coletivo Ali-Leste, Denilson Baniwa, Emmanuel Nassar, Ernesto Neto, Franklin Cassaro, Guto Lacaz, Lenora de Barros, Marcia Xavier, Marcos Chaves, Mari Stockler, Odaraya Mello, Raul Mourão, Regina Silveira, Rochelle Costi, and Rommulo Vieira Conceição.
Designed to receive children and adults, the exhibition art is good believes in living with art as a way to remedy the last years of isolation and excessive virtual consumption and, along the way, everything can and should be experienced. In a press release, the curators Daniela Thomas and Tera Queiroz commented on the exhibition, which will also offer a rich calendar of workshops and guided tours.
All works were designed by the artists to be touched, felt, heard, worn, pulled, recreated, reassembled, under the influence of the immense Lygia [Clark] and Helium [Oiticica]. It’s for playing, whatever your age, without ageism. – Daniela Thomas
from the legacy of Lygia Clark, replicas of the “Relational Objects” were produced, a series that invites the public to participate in the senses. ” [Hélio] Oiticica and [Lygia] Clark, two important references of neoconcretism and relational art in Brazil and in the world, could not be left out.
