Wolfhard compared Stranger Things with Harry Potter because the audience can follow the cast growing with each season / movie. “I think that comes with all of us growing up and getting older. We’re not going to wear 40-year-old wigs, screaming about demogorgons and stuff,” he explained.
In addition, the actor related the series to the franchise as, over time, both have gotten darker: “As these movies have been happening, the darker they’ve gotten. That’s more or less where we are now. Inherently, it gets darker. every season. It gets funnier, scarier, more dramatic.”
