Rauw Alejandro presents “Saturno”, his new album. And, according to the singer’s own definition, “the album that will change the urban world”.
“I wanted to take my fans on a journey through my mind, my emotions, the sounds that influenced me,” the Puerto Rican singer said. He added, “This album tells a story from beginning to end.”
Since the intro, otherworldly sounds fuse with homages to hip-hop pioneersin a throwback to block parties in the Bronx.
“For me, this album is a collection of the sounds that shaped me. From early hip-hop to freestyle and of course reggaeton, these are the elements that make me who I am,” Rauw added.
In addition to continually expanding the soundscapes that traditionally fall within the genre known as urban, Rauw has taken a more active role in producing this expertly curated offering. The artist served as co-producer on 18 of the album’s 18 tracks to ensure his vision is realized.
Same, the name of the album has a deep meaning for him.
When Rauw was young, his mother often told him that he was from another planet. “I believed my mother, because I knew I was destined for something extraordinary. That’s why I named the disc Saturno”, he explained.
