They Don’t Lose Weight: 4 Most Common Fitness Mistakes

Do you want to get results, and not just waste money on a gym membership and time working out? Then you need to consider these four nuances.

Experienced trainers explained what prevents their clients from losing weight – these are the mistakes that were included in the anti-rating compiled by specialists.

Bad warm up

“Forget the treadmill, you need to do more than just raise your heart rate and body temperature. Instead, spend ten minutes doing mobility exercises – stand on a high board, stretch your spine each time you come out of it, lower and higher dog to stimulate blood flow to your quadriceps, your hips and upper body. Don’t confuse mobility with flexibility or stretching – it’s more than that. When you’re more mobile, you can train harder and recover faster,” says UK trainer Lucy Cowan.

cardio only

According to Lucy, she constantly sees women in the gym doing cardio every day without adding weight training to their routine. “At first it seems like it works, but over time the body gets used to this regimen. Forget the myth that dumbbells, kettlebells or dumbbells will make you bulky. Strength training boosts the metabolism, reduces inflammation and improves posture – you should spend as much time doing this as you do aerobic exercise,” says Cohen.

too little rest

“If you don’t add rest days, your results will eventually suffer. Breaks allow the body and mind to recover from the stress of training, allowing you to be more efficient. The more intense your loads, the more rest you need – try to allocate it at least three days out of seven,” advises Lucy.

Combination of cardio and strength training

“You have to combine cardio and strength training well: it is better to do separate classes. Don’t expect to be able to lift heavy weights after just 30 minutes of running, break up your workouts for best results,” advises Charlotte Tote, trainer and founder of her own fitness platform.
