45 kg less: how I lost weight to have a baby and not get tired anymore

When excess weight interferes with a normal life, it’s a signal that the body needs a change. This is how our heroine decided to take charge of herself – and radically change her life!

“I am 28 years old, I work in an insurance company. I weighed around 135 kilograms when my husband and I decided to have a baby, and for that I needed to change my diet and my lifestyle.

My story

A few years ago we went to my sister’s wedding in Japan. I didn’t get to join many excursions, as there was a lot of walking and climbing somewhere. Extra pounds have become a real problem.

A year later we started talking about children and I realized that the body is simply incapable of carrying a child, even if I can’t even walk for a long time! This problem had to be solved…

I started by eliminating all fast food from my diet. It wasn’t easy, but my husband had long wanted to learn how to cook healthy meals, and I agreed to be the first to try his masterpieces. I gave up burgers and started eating what my husband cooks. He became interested in Chinese and Japanese cuisine, so it turned out not only tasty, but also healthy.

Another point that I changed is the dessert. Instead of cakes and pastries, I started eating fresh fruit. I froze fruits and berries to have a supply.

I noticed changes in my body pretty quickly. I started choosing more and more useful alternatives. Yes, I still like, for example, french fries, but at home you can cook them much tastier and less fatty than in the cafe.

What am I eating now

Breakfast: sandwich with egg, ham and light mozzarella, plain yogurt, fruit.

Lunch: large salad with chicken or turkey.

Snacks: vegetables, fruits, nuts.

Dinner: meat or fish with vegetables.

My workouts

Like many, I started small: 20-30 minutes of daily walks. It’s not much, but over time it became a habit and it became the start of my new life.

Then I became interested in home workouts, combining cardio and strength exercises. And I got so involved that I can’t imagine how I lived without them before.

What helped me

So, in a year and a half, I lost 45 kilos, then I got pregnant. We will have a boy!

During pregnancy, I did not give up sports and proper nutrition, I learned to maintain a normal level of activity and monitor my health. I realized that losing weight and the road to health is a process and you have to be proud of yourself at all stages. And even if you break down, you can always get back on track!”
