Alec Baldwin and Stephen Baldwin were seen together for the first time since their horror car crash in The Hamptons as they attended the 2026 Paisan Con at the APA Hotel in Woodbridge, New Jersey, on Saturday.
The appearance took place 11 months after the actor brothers escaped without injury when their luxury SUV struck a tree on Long Island.
The siblings posed for photographs together at the convention, which celebrated Italian arts, culture, food, and community. During the event, Stephen, 60, was named an honorary Paisan.
A paisan is defined as a fellow countryman, townsman, or close friend.
The Hamptons Car Crash
The brothers were involved in a serious collision in October of last year while traveling in The Hamptons. Alec, 68, was driving a white 2023 Range Rover belonging to his wife, Hilaria, with Stephen riding as a passenger when the vehicle slammed into a tree on the shoulder of the road.
East Hampton Town Police Department Chief Michael D. Sarlo released a statement to the Daily Mail detailing the incident, which occurred during treacherous rainy conditions on Montauk Highway.
"At approximately 12:01pm on Monday, October 13th, the EHTPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on State Route 27, Pantigo Road near Cross Highway," Sarlo said in the statement.
"A white 2023 Range Rover, operated by Alec Baldwin, with passenger Stephen Baldwin, was found to have struck a tree on the Eastbound shoulder of the roadway while avoiding the turning action of a 2020 Mack commercial truck, registered to National Waste Services out of Bay Shore, NY."
"There were no injuries reported or summons issued and the contributing factors to the accident were found to be a reaction to an uninvolved vehicle and the slippery and wet roadway conditions," Sarlo added.
The vehicle appeared to have crashed head-on into the tree, causing severe damage and completely smashing up the front of the luxury SUV.
In an Instagram video posted in October 2025 following the crash, Alec Baldwin blamed a garbage truck as big as a "whale" for forcing him off the road. He claimed another driver had cut him off, forcing him to swerve to avoid hitting the commercial truck before crashing head-first into the tree with Stephen inside.
Although photos of the crash scene included an image of the garbage truck, the owner of the vehicle told the publication that the truck's driver was not at fault in the crash.
In a subsequent Instagram video, Hilaria Baldwin thanked fans for their kind thoughts and clarified that both Alec and Stephen were unharmed in the accident.
Social Media Videos and Film Festival
The SUV involved in the crash belonged to Hilaria, as Baldwin confirmed in an Instagram video shared at the time.
In July 2025, Hilaria had shared a humorous TikTok video of the couple driving the same vehicle. In the clip, she lip-synced to Christina Aguilera's song "What A Girl Wants" while adding the caption, "anytime I have to parallel park."
Hilaria sat in the driver's seat posing seductively for the camera as she prepared to park, while Alec sat next to her in the passenger seat with a grouchy expression on his face. The video then cut to an exterior shot showing the couple getting out of the car to switch seats so Alec could finish parking. Back in the car, Hilaria made affectionate eyes at her husband, who smiled slightly while bobbing his head to the music.
At the time of the crash, Alec was an expected guest at the Hamptons International Film Festival, which ran from October 5 through October 13 last year, serving as co-chair of its executive committee.
A source told Page Six that "he has been out there all week, he attended films and moderated panels."
Alec owns a 10-acre estate on Town Lane in Amagansett, located in a Long Island enclave popular with billionaires. Located 100 miles from the family penthouse in Greenwich Village, the property features a 10,000-square-foot modern farmhouse, pool, spa, covered porches, and a pavilion.
The actor also celebrated nearly four decades of sobriety in 2024 following years of drug and alcohol abuse.
The Baldwin Acting Dynasty
Stephen Baldwin also works as an actor, though he has not achieved the same level of fame and acclaim as his older brother.
Stephen is best known for appearing in the 1995 classic thriller The Usual Suspects. He also held major roles in the 1996 comedy Bio-Dome, opposite Pauly Shore, and in the 2000 sequel The Flintstones In Viva Rock Vegas.
Stephen is the father of model and cosmetics mogul Hailey Bieber, who married pop superstar Justin Bieber in 2018.
Alec and Stephen are part of an acting dynasty that also includes brothers Daniel Baldwin and William Baldwin.
The Rust Shooting and Legal Proceedings
In October 2021, while filming the Western movie Rust in New Mexico, Alec was holding a prop revolver that went off and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Director Joel Souza was also injured in the incident.
Alec strenuously denied pulling the trigger, maintaining that he pulled back the hammer of the revolver, not the trigger, before it fired. He faced a charge of involuntary manslaughter, but the case was ultimately dismissed by a judge in 2024.
The judge dismissed the case after it was discovered that the prosecution had withheld potentially exculpatory evidence. Prosecutors failed to share information about or access to live ammunition brought in by a retired police officer who suggested it could be related to the Hutchins killing. The ammunition was filed under a separate case number, and Alec's legal team was not notified.
Armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the shooting and was sentenced to the maximum of 18 months in prison starting last March. Following the dismissal of Alec's case, Gutierrez-Reed moved to have her conviction dismissed or to receive a new trial.
The film Rust had its world premiere at a film festival in Poland last September before opening in the United States earlier this month to a polarized critical response.
Civil Lawsuit Over Prosecution
In January 2025, Alec filed a civil lawsuit accusing several officials in the Santa Fe, New Mexico District Attorney's office of malicious prosecution and civil rights violations after he was charged over the shooting.
According to the Associated Press, the court filing accused prosecutors of trying to "scapegoat Baldwin for the acts and omissions of others, regardless of the evidence or the law."
In July, a judge dismissed Alec's malicious prosecution lawsuit after both he and the defense failed to file additional documents or make progress on the case for several months.
Alec's attorney, Luke Nikas, a partner at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, told the Daily Mail that the judge's decision to dismiss the lawsuit was a "non-event."
"The court dismissed the matter without prejudice because we have been waiting to prosecute the case," Nikas said. "We have been in good-faith settlement discussions with the parties to the lawsuit, and will be refiling promptly if those discussions are not promptly and favorably resolved."
