Alejandra Rubio has revealed that family feuds and media pressure ruined her second pregnancy as she prepares to give birth to a baby girl.
The daughter of Spanish broadcaster Terelu Campos is counting down the final weeks before welcoming her child with partner Carlo Costanzia. The arrival of a daughter breaks a long-standing tradition within the Costanzia family of having only male children.
Rubio acknowledged that her second pregnancy had not been the calm experience she envisioned. Despite expecting a more secure process away from previous fears, she explained that her family had caused severe headaches while reporters continuously gathered outside her home.
The television personality has faced multiple open conflicts within her prominent family clan. These include a dispute surrounding the sale of her late grandmother's house in Málaga, ongoing public attacks from her cousin José María Almoguera, and a severe rift between her mother Terelu and her aunt Carmen Borrego.
Campos family tensions
The ongoing tension between Terelu Campos and Carmen Borrego intensified after the breakdown in relations between their respective children. Terelu previously disclosed that her daughter had suffered significantly during her pregnancy as a result of the internal crisis within the Campos family.
Addressing the rift, Rubio insisted that she is an independent individual who should not always be lumped together with her family. She added that she no longer considers herself an active participant in family disputes and is choosing to step back, while confirming her mother's comments about her difficult pregnancy.
Rubio stated that while her pregnancy was far from perfect, she wished for more tranquility but accepted that life was like that, adding she did not want to turn the situation into a drama.
Past backlash and home renovations
The influencer noted that she was careful with her public statements to avoid further controversy. Weeks earlier, she faced public backlash after complaining that she lacked the financial means to buy a home in Aravaca, one of the most exclusive districts in Madrid, while declining to consider less prestigious areas outside the city center.
Rather than moving, Rubio chose to renovate her current rental property to adapt it for the new baby. She explained that a severe case of nesting syndrome prompted her to redesign the entire residence, which temporarily forced her to leave the property for several days due to paint fumes and ongoing construction work.
She praised Costanzia for managing the renovation work, describing him as a machine who knew exactly what needed to be done and fulfilled all her design requests during the remodeling process.
Secrecy over due date and baby name
Rubio declined to state her official due date, noting that this media appearance might be her last before giving birth.
She also kept the baby's chosen name private. While she confirmed that she and Costanzia have already selected a name behind closed doors, she admitted it took considerable effort to decide. She explained that she wanted a non-traditional name that would make an impression, remaining tight-lipped about whether the choice would surprise the public.
The Campos family remains one of Spain's best-known television dynasties, established by the late journalism icon María Teresa Campos. Rubio and her mother Terelu Campos are regular figures on Spanish television broadcasts, with their private lives frequently featured across national entertainment media.
