Russian actress Alexandra Babaskina has revealed that she left traditional schooling in the sixth grade to transition to online learning due to her demanding filming schedule. Speaking to the Telegram channel Cult Russian TV Series, the 15-year-old performer explained that she plans to graduate from school externally later this year.
Babaskina admitted that she had frequently skipped classes since the first grade as she balanced early acting work with her studies. She explained that the distance format allowed her to organize her time much better and accomplish more academic work while maintaining her primary focus on cinema.
Acting remains the top priority for the teenage star. For her role as Vera in the hit series Kholod, Babaskina consciously chose to skip social parties and film premieres so she could focus entirely on understanding and developing the internal emotional world of her character.
Success of Kholod and career background
The television show Kholod, which stars acclaimed actress Lyubov Aksenova alongside Babaskina, previously earned widespread industry recognition as one of the standout projects of the year under the title Countess Monte-Crypto. Online education and external graduation programs are common pathways for child actors, enabling them to complete national secondary school requirements while working long hours on set.
Babaskina began her career on screen in the military historical drama Sky Is Measured in Miles, directed by filmmaker Konstantin Buslov. Following her debut, she achieved a major career milestone in 2023 when she secured her first lead role in the feature film Chizhik-Pyzhik Returns.
Equine passions and upcoming roles
Looking back at her filmography, Babaskina highlighted several productions that she takes particular pride in. She noted her work on the project Otpechatki as well as the feature film Stikhiya, where she successfully combined her personal love for horses with her screen work alongside co-star Masha Koshina.
Looking ahead, Babaskina confirmed that she is currently involved in an upcoming major project. The actress did not reveal further details about the role or title, keeping specific information about the production under wraps for the time being.
