Seventeen-year-old actress Anna Peresild has paused her movie filming career to focus entirely on her studies after gaining admission to the Moscow Film School.
In an interview with Kino Mail, Peresild explained that stepping away from film sets was a conscious decision. She noted that it would be impossible to combine demanding shooting schedules with her daily classes, describing the hiatus as a necessary step in her preparation for higher education.
Peresild enrolled in the acting course taught by acclaimed screen and stage actress Darya Moroz. She successfully completed the entrance selection process on general grounds, competing alongside other prospective students without special privileges.
The announcement of her admission triggered a wave of criticism across social media platforms. Several online commentators alleged that Peresild was accepted due to the influence of her famous parents, actress Yulia Peresild and feature film director Alexei Uchitel. However, her performance in the open selection rounds served to dispel the rumors of nepotism.
Future Film Roles and Course Policies
Peresild clarified that she has no intention of abandoning her acting career completely. She confirmed that she remains open to returning to set if a genuinely compelling film or television project comes along during her studies.
Students on the course are not barred from taking acting work while studying. Her course master, Moroz, permits students to take on roles, and the teaching staff actively supports students who seek to gain practical industry experience while learning how to balance work with their studies.
Anna Peresild is best known to audiences for her breakout performance in the popular Russian crime drama series The Boy's Word: Blood on the Pavement. She comes from a prominent cinematic family: her mother, Yulia Peresild, starred in the film The Challenge after traveling to the International Space Station, while her father, Alexei Uchitel, is an established film director whose works include Matilda and The Edge.
