Anne Hathaway, who plays Queen Penelope in Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey," named her favorite line from the film in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
Hathaway said she was struck by the moment when Robert Pattinson's character, Antinous, says the line "someone get rid of these beggars." She said the line had gone viral on social media, and that she loved seeing people use those words mercilessly online, adding that she was fully in favor of it.
Fire alarm cut off the line in Hong Kong
An unusual incident previously involved that same Pattinson line. During a screening of "The Odyssey" at a cinema in Hong Kong, a fire alarm went off and the theater was evacuated at the exact moment Antinous delivered the line about the beggars.
"The Odyssey" premiered worldwide on July 17. The film tells an epic story based on the poem of the same name by the ancient Greek poet Homer. Matt Damon, star of "The Departed" and "The Martian," plays the lead role, alongside Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong'o, Charlize Theron and Jon Bernthal.
