Former Bachelor star Arie Luyendyk Jr., 44, revealed he got a second vasectomy after previously reversing his first procedure and welcoming his fourth child. He shared the news on social media while heading to the doctor's office on Friday to undergo the procedure for the second time in four years. "Today's a good day to get a vasectomy," he wrote in an Instagram Story post, adding, "Hope laughing gas is FUN!"

After finishing the procedure, the former race car driver-turned-real estate broker shared a car selfie wearing a new T-shirt that read "All Juice, No Seed" across the front. "Did it, got the shirt," Luyendyk wrote over the snapshot. Representatives for Luyendyk did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Daily Mail.

Luyendyk and his wife, Lauren Burnham Luyendyk, welcomed their fourth child, daughter Livvy, in September 2025. The couple are also parents to daughter Alessi, seven, and five-year-old twins Senna and Lux. They met in 2018 while filming season 22 of The Bachelor and married the following year.
Vasectomy and recovery updates
Before heading into his appointment, Luyendyk shared a short video explaining why his wife was not accompanying him inside the clinic. "I'm going at it alone this time," he said, explaining he ensured his wife would not be literally in the room again. "The first time was a little traumatic, and Lauren being there felt a little weird," he continued, adding that he was out cold during his reversal procedure in February 2025 and hoped laughing gas from his new doctor would make this appointment smoother.
During the visit, Luyendyk shared a photo of the operation room with the caption "OMG hellllppppp." While undergoing the operation, he left his wife at home and later reposted several of her Instagram posts recapping what she did while he was away.
Celebration and gift basket
Lauren Burnham Luyendyk celebrated what she called the "end of an era (again)" by putting together a gift basket filled with treats featuring vasectomy-related jokes. "I couldn't not," she wrote over a video showing the items arranged in a toy crib. She recorded herself smiling next to the basket and stitched the clip with footage of welcoming her husband home and presenting him with the gifts.

She also shared a photo of her husband smiling as she presented him with a bag of frozen peas upon his return home. Luyendyk reshared the post showing off the puns his wife came up with, writing "lol" over a close-up snapshot of the gift basket.
Reversal and family expansion
The second procedure comes less than a year after the birth of the couple's fourth child in September 2025. In February 2025, before welcoming their daughter, the couple uploaded a YouTube video in which Luyendyk explained he felt he rushed into getting a vasectomy after their twins were born. "We said we were done having kids, like, a couple years ago, but I think we're gonna do it one more time," Luyendyk said in the video, adding, "As you guys know, I got the vasectomy after the twins were born and ever since then, I don't know, I think I rushed it. Honestly, it's more on me."

In the same video, Lauren Burnham Luyendyk revealed her husband scheduled his first vasectomy six months after their twins were born without consulting her first, though she later got on board with the decision. "All of our kids are like, the best age right now, and I just felt like, 'Dang it, I think we can do this again. If we had a singleton, we could totally handle that,'" Luyendyk explained. Lauren, who was the season 22 runner-up of The Bachelor, said she eventually agreed to have another child after coming to terms with closing that chapter, while Luyendyk joked that the change of mind gave them "a little bit of whiplash."
