American pop group Backstreet Boys have added five new concert dates to their Las Vegas residency at Sphere to celebrate the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays.

The quintet will perform on December 26, 27, and 31, as well as January 1 and 2, extending their run at the Nevada venue into 2027.

Tickets for the new performances went on sale immediately following the announcement. The additional dates bring the band's total number of performances at the venue to more than 30 since launching the concert series in 2025.

Titled 'Into the millennium', the show features group members Nick Carter, AJ McLean, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough, and Kevin Richardson performing their largest number-one hit songs.

Sphere is a spherical music and entertainment arena located in Paradise, Nevada, near the Las Vegas Strip. The venue opened in 2023 and features a high-resolution wraparound interior LED screen. Backstreet Boys formed in Orlando, Florida, in 1993 and have recorded music together for more than three decades.

Celebrity audience at summer shows

The announcement follows the conclusion of the group's summer performances, which drew numerous celebrity guests to the venue. Fellow pop group Jonas Brothers attended one of the final summer concerts alongside their partners.

Brothers Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas, and Nick Jonas watched the performance from a VIP box with actress Priyanka Chopra, who is married to Nick Jonas. The party dressed entirely in white to match the cover art of the 1999 album 'Millennium'.

Videos shared on social media showed Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra singing and dancing to the group's signature single 'I Want It That Way' during the performance.

The album 'Millennium' was released by Backstreet Boys in May 1999 and became one of the best-selling pop albums of all time. Jonas Brothers formed in 2005 and have frequently cited older vocal groups as key influences on their career.

European dates in Germany

Before returning to Las Vegas for the end-of-year performances, Backstreet Boys will travel to Europe for a series of concerts in Germany. The group is scheduled to perform in Düsseldorf in late September and early October.

The European concerts, titled 'Homecoming: Live in Germany', will take place at the Merkur Spiel-Arena. Organisers said the production will replicate the full arena stage design used during their American shows.

Merkur Spiel-Arena is a retractable-roof stadium in Düsseldorf with a capacity of over 50,000 for music events. The concert series marks a rare European appearance for the group before they return to Nevada to ring in 2027.
