Booba-kiki effect: how to use the new social media trend that clearly divides men into two types in terms of appearance

TikTok users have invented a new treat: the booba-kiki psychological test is used to describe the appearance of star men. It’s very addictive, try it yourself!

Synesthesia is the name of the phenomenon in the human brain, in which stimulation of one neurological area provokes an involuntary response in another system of perception.

For example, the “bouba-kiki effect” illustrates how a sound image and a form are linked in the mind. It was discovered almost a hundred years ago by Wolfgang Köhler. He showed different people two figures – rounded and angular – and asked which of them was called “takete” and which was called “baluba”. The vast majority of respondents answered that the takete is an angular figure, that’s obvious!

In 2001, fellow psychologists Vileanur Ramachandran and Edward Hubbard changed the characters’ names to “booba” and “kiki”. 95% of the participants in the experiment did not hesitate to call a rounded number “booba”.

Well, ask yourself, what does Danila Kozlovsky have to do with this? But what does it have to do with it – TikTok users remembered this experiment and the effect it demonstrates, and applied the theory differently. Depending on their version, guys can also be quite clearly divided into breast-men and kiki-men.

The trend is actively viral on the social network, and the girls who participated in the discussion have already drawn conclusions from it: boobas are men with soft features, and kicks have sculpted faces. And that’s not the only difference!

What kind of men do you really like?

kiki

It turned out not only easy, but also very exciting to contrast buba and kiki types. And the porters agreed on one important difference: kicks are easy to steal and break hearts, but breasts are where women often find their personal happiness.

For example, typical breasts are Pedro Pascal and Mikhail Porechenkov. And 100% kicks are Timothée Chalamet and Danila Kozlovsky. Do you agree? Although it often happens that the superficial impression is deceptive, and the classic kiki turns out to be the most sparkling. But scientists still have to puzzle over this effect!
