Original or fake: how to find the perfume’s batch number – and what to do if it’s not on the bottle

Sometimes you really want to buy a bottle of perfume from your hands or from a private online store on social networks! There can be several reasons: for example, if it is a rare or discontinued perfume, if you want to try something new – incompletely – or if you dream of refreshing the memories of an old perfume favorite… Or just because it’s cheaper there than in popular chain stores.

But how to protect yourself from a fake? First of all, the batch code will come to the rescue. Yes, cunning scammers have also learned to pretend, but such cases are still quite rare.

By the batch (look for it at the bottom of the package or bottle), you can determine the production date, the expiration date (although this parameter is definitely conditional!) and the authenticity of the bottle. Please note, this is not a barcode!

By the way, not all brands use batches. Especially often, small niche brands “forget” about it – after all, such marking is not mandatory. This is why selective scents are more difficult to control than known scents. But, in all honesty, they’re less often faked than popular flavors.

But what to do with this batch code? Just check it on specialized sites by typing the code in the dedicated box. But remember: no site provides 100% accurate information. It is therefore better to buy perfume in trusted stores, and not in market places or flea markets.
