Quick and Painless: What is gelling and how does it compare to other hair removal methods?

If you haven’t found your ideal way of hair removal yet, you can pay attention to gelling. This is a relatively new procedure that has won both enthusiastic fans and ardent enemies.

The world of beauty offers a huge number of ways to get rid of unwanted vegetation on the body. Some girls spend money on innovative techniques and wax with machines. And others can in no way part with the good old razor: after all, after all, it has really proven itself.

If you are tired of shaving and laser and photoepilation are not available (for example, if they are not available in your city or if they are not suitable for you for health reasons), this is not That’s no reason to do painful waxing or sugaring. You can try to find a gelling master – the new way to remove excess hair from the body.

Gelling started slowly appearing in salons about five years ago – which, of course, isn’t an era for the beauty industry at all. The advertisement says that gel hair removal is the future: after all, the procedure is practically painless, and after each session, the hairs grow thinner and slower. In addition, gelling masters promise the absence of ingrown hairs and irritation, which is important when it comes to particularly sensitive areas. The main thing is to grow the hairs to at least 4-5 millimeters so that you can capture and remove them.

The gelation procedure is carried out in three stages, using special formulations for hair removal. First, the master applies a lotion to the skin to open the pores, and after about 10 minutes – the main agent that softens the gel. It must be kept on the skin for 20 minutes, then removed with the help of special strips, reminiscent of those used when sugaring and waxing. They say that, unlike these methods, hair removal during gelation is accompanied by much less sensations: simply because the softening composition destroys the structure of the hairs, and they are more easily “teared” from the skin.

Finally, at the third stage, the master cleanses the skin of the remnants of gel and applies a soothing lotion. Everything is ready – in total the procedure takes about an hour.

The description of gelation seems so simple that it seems that it can be done at home – by analogy with store-bought depilatory cream. However, experts warn that it is difficult to achieve a clean result at home: due to the fact that the gel must be applied very carefully, following a special technique taught in specialized courses.

By the way, it is at such shades that those who criticize gelling have questions. Some women who have tried the advertised method of hair removal do not understand how it differs from waxing and shugaring, if you do not take into account the slightly different texture of the product, with a dubious ability to destroy hair. As a result, with these three methods there are certain pain sensations and rapid hair growth: after all, not a single composition or gel can affect the functioning of the hair follicles!

Moreover, ingrown hairs are not so easy to avoid. To do this, you need to competently care for the skin, rub it regularly and moisturize it.

It’s time to admit that only more expensive and painful methods like laser and electrolysis can affect hair growth reduction. And gelling is suitable for those who want to pay less and are ready to constantly go to the master – waiting for the hairs to reach the necessary length for depilation. Probably, due to the reduction in pain compared to shugaring, it is suitable for girls with a low pain threshold. Or, for example, those who suffer from varicose veins – again due to less sensation when treating the skin with epilation strips.
