You probably know what body mass index is – and most likely you have calculated your indicator more than once or twice. However, believing it 100% is quite difficult. At least because our weight often fluctuates – depending on the period of the cycle, physical activity or a tendency to puffiness. Of course, we are talking about a possible “plus” of 2-3 kilograms. But for many, such an increase seems very dramatic.

Also, scales are not in every home. And weighing yourself at the gym or at a party is not the best idea, because you have to do it on an empty stomach. That is why experts recommend trying an easier way to assess the figure – by the ratio of height to height.

Waist coverage is not only an aesthetic indicator, but also a medical one. In this zone, visceral fat is deposited, the excess of which leads to the development of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and other serious complications.

In order to understand if you are overweight and have a maximum amount of body fat, you need to measure your height and divide it by your height. For example, if the height is 70 centimeters, and the height is 160 cm, the following value is obtained: 70:160 \u003d 0.4375. Or 43.75%.
