No time or money to go to the salon? Then you need to know how you can remove gel polish at home – after all, it is dangerous to “wear it too much”.
Manicurists usually use acetone, but what if it wasn’t on hand? It turns out that doing without this tool is not so difficult!
The first thing to do is to cut your nails as short as possible: this way you will have to get rid of less nail polish. It can also “lift” the varnish, which is one of the necessary conditions for its removal. Remember: you can’t pull off a cool manicure the way we’ll talk about later – use them when the gel has already started to hint that it’s going to part with you.
First method: just wash it
This method works if the coating is more than two weeks old and has already begun to lag behind the plate in some places. Find these areas and treat the space between the varnish and the nail with a jet of water – you can increase the pressure to achieve the desired effect. Gently push the gel with your finger, but make sure that the water procedure does not turn into a banal peeling that harms the nails – the varnish should fall off on its own, and not from your intense efforts.

Did the water help? Try using olive oil or cuticle oil. Rub it into the polish and wait: this will help the polish pull away from the nail.
If running water or oil won’t loosen your manicure, try soaking your nails in warm water. Pour it into a bowl, add salt and a little washing up liquid, then soak your fingers in the solution for 15-20 minutes. After that, dry your nails and see how the polish begins to peel off.

After removing most of the gel, there will still be small stubborn stains. To finally get rid of the color, sand them with a nail file. Be sure to dry your hands completely before doing this and be sure to remove the polish, not the top layer of the nail. When you’re done, apply cuticle oil to your fingers (you can substitute olive oil or coconut oil), then apply moisturizer to your hands.
