Straight, wavy, curly – what kind of hair do you have? This question defines a large part of the daily beauty routine. Our material contains a care and style guide that will be useful for all girls. Especially if you spend a lot of time trying to get your hair in order, but to no avail.
“Smooth – curl, curly – straighten” – this is the logic that most girls follow, forgetting that hair of any type can be beautiful. The main thing is to provide them with competent care.
Introducing a beauty guide to straight, wavy and curly hair care, styling tips and stellar examples.
PS To determine hair texture, wash hair and examine strands without any styling products. Still not sure which category your hair belongs to? Perhaps you are the owner of a mixture of two types, for example, “straight + wavy”.
Type 1: straight hair
Greasy, oily, weak, lifeless, boring – these are the unflattering adjectives that often describe straight hair. But they can be stunningly beautiful if you give them the right care: wash your hair often and arm yourself with dry shampoo. The result will not keep you waiting. There are three types of straight hair.

1A hair type
Fine, smooth baby hair – the epitome of Category 1A. They don’t hold curls well and are difficult to style. General complaints: oiliness and weakness. Keep dry shampoo on hand for a daytime “reboot” and avoid heavy, nourishing conditioners that can pull hair down and make it greasy.
Featured Example: Dakota Fanning, Gwyneth Paltrow
Hair Type 1B
Type 1B hair has thicker strands with a slight twist at the ends (but no curls). To add volume and texture to your curls, use a dry texturizing spray at the roots before styling with a flat iron.
Featured Case: Kendall Jenner
1C hair type
Category 1C corresponds to straight hair with several waves. They are very thin, prone to the formation of curls, hold styling well. But, to avoid looking like a fluffy ball after going out, use a smoothing, anti-static and air-cool serum when blow-drying.
Featured Example: Sienna Miller
Type 2: Wavy Hair
Most people consider girls with natural waves to have the perfect balance of curls and straight hair. But in order for the waves to look beautiful and neat, you need to take care of them properly. There are three types of wavy hair.
2A hair type
Hair type 2A can be classified as classic. Each loop has a random twist. Most girls with this hair type straighten their hair to achieve a smooth hairstyle. But if you want to bring out your natural texture, blow dry your hair and use a curling iron to create straighter locks.
Featured Example: Amanda Seyfried, Kate Hudson
2B hair type
Many girls use special sprays to achieve the “beach wave” effect, and Type 2B owners are simply born with textured hair. These curls look best when styled with mousse or a diffuser. Secret: the less you touch your hair, the more waves you will get. Also, don’t forget to use hair oil.
Featured Case: Kate Middleton
2C hair type
Large waves with curls look chic, but require special care. This hair benefits from hydration and finger styling. Be sure to pamper them with deep nourishing and conditioning masks (at least once a week).
Star Example: Lord Shakira
Type 3: Curly Hair
The market is full of products for curly girls, and it’s no wonder. You fall into the third group if your curls curl into rings or spirals, and also if your hair looks unkempt, dry and porous, lint a lot, breakage and gets a little dirty. The main rule for such hair: be careful when brushing! There are three types of curly hair.
3A hair type
Type 3A hair curls are the largest in diameter. To enhance them, apply a leave-in conditioner to damp hair. You can use a towel to compress the curls, pushing the strands towards the scalp. Hair with this texture is easy to straighten, but sensitive to high temperatures – don’t forget about protection.
Star Case: Taylor Swift
3B hair type
Type 3B curls are stretched spirals that cascade down to the shoulders. Lightweight gels mixed with conditioners help create smooth, bouncy curls with no sticky residue. It’s best to apply stylers to clean, damp hair, let it absorb the moisture and only then dry it.
Featured Example: Halle Berry
3C hair type
Category 3C curls are the tightest and most frizz-prone, ranging in diameter from a pencil to a small marker. To avoid messy hair, pay special attention to cleaning your hair (for example, use a cleansing conditioner). Such care will reduce knockout strands and maintain shine.
