Thoroughly! 10 popular beauty treatments that can turn into a nightmare

Many popular procedures that we perform at home are best left to professionals. Each of us has at least once encountered unfortunate failures associated with improper self-care. Don’t repeat these mistakes!

1. Cut the cuticle

It would seem that it could be easier – to cut the cuticle. In fact, it’s not a procedure you should do yourself if you’re unsure of your own professionalism. When cutting the cuticle with tweezers, you need to have a certain technique so that the skin that you seem to have removed “zero” does not begin to grow in a few days. Also, if the cuticle is cut incorrectly, it can affect the quality of the nail and even cause grooves on the nail plate.

2. Clean the face with an electric brush

Electric facial cleansing brushes have recently become incredibly popular. The “wow” effect you get after using the brush can backfire. The fact is that if there is inflammation and acne on the skin, it is in no way possible to “clean” these problem areas – there is a huge risk of spreading the “mud” on the whole face, then to deal with the disaster at the beautician. Conclusion: you have to be very careful with a brush, it is not suitable for problem skin.

3. Lightening hair

So that day has arrived. You have made your decision. Go blonde. At home. Se. I bought a clarifier, read the instructions. It would be nice to stop there, remove the paint somewhere far away and register with an experienced salon master … But no! We all know the result: burnt yellow hair, hysteria, going to the store with a knitted cap – darker for the paint, because this shame must somehow be hidden!

4. Peeling

Home peeling is a very risky business, and any cosmetologist will tell you about it. The fact is that this procedure is always a chemical effect, and the composition should be carefully selected depending on the type of skin. Are you sure you can do it? The result of improper peeling can be redness, peeling and even burning. That is why we do not recommend doing this procedure at home. After all, it’s your face!

5. Natural masks

A mask of strawberries, sour cream, cherries, honey, oatmeal and God knows what else … What I found in the kitchen, I put on my face. Before making a natural mask, make sure you don’t have any allergies, otherwise, instead of having smooth and refreshed skin, you will have itchy and puffy skin.

6. Waxing at home

I wonder if there is at least one girl in the world who managed to wax at home without injuries or tears? Burns due to a product that is too hot, wax stuck to the skin that cannot be wiped off (you can also remove it with sunflower oil), and a date that was suddenly ruined… You have to stay at home ! Also, if you pull the hairs in the wrong direction, they start to grow, and that’s not a pleasant situation either.

7. Pedicure at home

The pedicure is not easy at all. It must be known. And the point is not only that you will have to sit for quite a long time, bent over three dead, and try to treat your nails beautifully. The most difficult thing in a pedicure is to remove the keratinized layer of skin so as not to “grind” the heels, and then walk on them with difficulty. Excessive persistence ends in cracks and new calluses. If you have already decided to put the legs in order on your own, hide all the hard files, choosing the most sparing.

8. Pluck eyebrows

Pulling out the extra hair a little is fine, it’s not dangerous. But attempts to give eyebrows a new shape by themselves always, you hear, always end very, very badly! At best, you’ll have to go to the master and do it all over again, at worst, wait for everything you treated so confidently to grow back.

9. Scrub

The same story as with the brushes. Many girls love scrubs – homemade, made with coffee or sugar, or ready to use. Alas, not everyone can use the scrub – the desire to cleanse the skin can turn into the opposite effect, even for minor inflammations, the scrub is a serious irritant. Alas, this procedure is suitable only for perfectly clean skin.

10. Strengthen hair with henna

For some reason, it is generally accepted that henna is a very useful hair product. In fact, it does not have nutritional properties, but it really sticks the scales of the hair, making it shinier. At the same time, the hair itself becomes more dense, dry and therefore brittle. So, if you dream of having split ends, continue to “strengthen” your hair in this way.
