Penelope Cruz has been a beauty icon for years, and at 49, the actress still looks great. From a healthy, balanced diet to regular exercise, it’s what helps her age gracefully and stay young.

She avoids sugar

Sure, resisting a delicious cupcake or donut can be tough, but giving up sugar can be a huge boon for your skin. Penelope tries not to eat products that can harm her beauty.

“I try to avoid dairy products and sugar. Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables and quality animal protein. Now I also drink a lot of water, which I didn’t do before,” admitted Cruz.

She does a lot

Regular exercise helps you stay energized and improves your overall health. Daily exercise can also be good for your skin, and Cruz does her best to stay active.

“I do Bikram yoga, which has completely changed my body. I used to be lethargic, but now my energy levels are off the charts. It’s like magic, but that magic has to be earned,” she said.

“I am passionate about this idea. I truly believe your stomach is your second brain,” Cruz says.
