It’s time to forget this eternal recipe: why you can’t wipe your skin with an ice cube

Ice cube lotions are the basis of economical home procedures. They have been actively popularized since Soviet times. But today, only few can use such beauty hack safely.

For decades, ice cubes have been praised in health and beauty cookbooks. They are believed to be useful both on their own and if you freeze fruit slices or herbal infusions in ice cream molds. These “grandmother’s” lotions instantly improve complexion, eliminate puffiness and give a fresh look, which makes the skin look more radiant, healthy and young.

However, in modern realities, while there are so many specialized cosmetics for puffiness and other unpleasant morning symptoms, you can only rely on the power of ice cubes if you have a normal skin type.

The thing is, ice is a pretty strong irritant. It can increase dryness and tightness and damage the top layer of skin. And even cause the appearance of red spots and inflammatory elements.

It is especially dangerous to use ice in the presence of rosacea, rosacea and acne. In this state, the skin is so sensitive and reactive that exacerbations cannot be avoided!
