5 situations when you have to give up nail polish for a while

Do you feel naked if you don’t have polish on your nails? We don’t blame you for anything – we ourselves are the same. In this terrible adult life, you have to appreciate any pleasant trifle, and a manicure is certainly one of them.

However, as much as we love it, the reality is that sometimes it’s worth taking a break. Here are the situations in question.

Your nails look unhealthy

At such times, the first reflex is to apply two coats of varnish as quickly as possible in order to forget that the plates have changed color or are dented. Don’t do this though: nail polish is a great disguise for fungi and bacteria, allowing them to multiply and thrive on your fingers. It is best to consult a doctor – you may need to treat the infection urgently.

Nails and skin become very dry

Many manufacturers claim that their nail polish removers strengthen the nails, but the reality is that most formulations only dry out the nails and the cuticles. Have you noticed that after removing the remnants of the old manicure, it cracked? Take a Break: Don’t reapply the liner so you don’t have to remove it with acetone or its equivalents, making the problem worse.

Nails have turned yellow

This is usually due to nail polish pigment staining the nail, but the patches can also turn yellow due to diabetes, psoriasis, thyroid and lung disease, and even skin cancer. How to understand why yellowness appeared? Skip the manicure and see if the growing nail is a normal color.

You don’t have time to refresh your manicure

Let’s face it: no polish is better than a chipped and cracked finish. You probably know that even the work of a master requires care – every day you should apply hand cream to your hands and cuticle oil to your fingers, renewing the finish every two or three days and also remove all scratches and chips in a timely manner. If you don’t have enough time for this, it may be worth taking a break and walking around with “bare” fingernails.

Do you do manual labor?

Watercress and spinach won’t plant themselves! In the summer season, no measure will help preserve even the strongest varnish – so maybe it’s better not to apply it? You go to the salon when the harvest is done or on the eve of the holidays, and before that give your nails a five-day detox – it will do them good!
