You can endlessly watch how the fire burns and the water flows. But seeing your hair lose volume every year is very unpleasant!
However, this is a normal process – hair begins to thin with age, it becomes less. How to prevent it? Here is what dermatologists and hairdressers advise!
First step: discover the reason
First you need to understand whether the hair has really become less thick due to age. Could it be new medications, illness, excessive coloring, chemical treatments or excessive use of flat irons? If you yourself cannot find the answer, consult your hairdresser and go to a trichologist – he will help you.
Step two: buy a thickening shampoo
You may have seen them on store shelves before. Wondering if these shampoos work? Experts think so. “I recommend those that contain keratin, biotin, collagen – these substances promote healthy hair growth,” says plastic surgeon and dermatologist Harikiran Cheruki. “These ingredients will help strengthen strands from within and add volume without damaging or weighing hair down.”

Hair needs change with age: in the sixth decade, the scalp produces less oil, which can make curls drier and stiffer, and frequent water treatments will only exacerbate this . Washing your hair two or three times a week is the best way to keep your hair clean on this regimen. Experts also recommend using the mildest shampoos: for example, hairstylist Cindy Marcus suggests choosing natural or vegan shampoos, which, as a rule, do not contain harsh ingredients.
If you had a reason to eat more fish, then here it is: omega-3 fatty acids, which are important for hair growth, are found in mackerel, salmon and herring. Do not forget about fried eggs – eggs are rich in biotin, which promotes the supply of nutrients to hair follicles and optimizes their metabolic processes.
First, visit your hairdresser every six to eight weeks to have your split ends removed. Secondly, set aside five minutes a day for a head massage – studies have shown that after six months of such procedures, the hair becomes thicker, and its thickness increases. Third, use hot tools to style as little as possible – high temperature leads to brittleness and dryness of the strands. And finally, if you want to add a little luxury to your life, sleep on a silk pillowcase – unlike cotton, it won’t damage your hair.
