10 simple secrets that will make your hair removal easier

Not to be groundless, we asked the queen of waxing, one of the UK’s most famous experts, for advice. lawless kim:

“I have been waxing for many years and I know how many questions, myths, legends and misconceptions about it ruin the lives of girls (by the way, men too). That’s why I’m happy to share life hacks developed over the years that will help you.

Prepare your skin

For the result to be the one you expect, take care of yourself before you even go to the salon. Yes, of course, even if you do nothing, a professional master will do it, but the risk of skin irritation, more severe pain during and after the procedure will be much higher. why do you need it? A week before the appointment, start using a delicate scrub on the areas you plan to wax. After the exfoliation, generously apply the moisturizing nourishing cream. Then epilation will be easier, the skin will not be so irritated and the risk of ingrown hairs will be minimized.

Throw away the razor

If your goal is to keep your skin perfectly smooth for as long as possible, grow your hair for at least three weeks before epilating. Better yet, four! Yes, I was right: no shaving or waxing, no hair checks during this period! Why? Let me explain: for about 7 days, 30% of your hair is in the active growth phase. The rest of the hair follicles are “at rest”. So, for all the hairs to start growing, it takes at least 3 weeks (and even then 10% may not wake up yet), and in 4 weeks everyone will definitely “hatch”. Then we will remove them! Otherwise, only the sprouted ones will be removed and after 7 days you will say, “Why the hell did I give so much money to review unnecessary hairs?”

No arbitrariness

Please, if you have not been trained in hair removal or a professional master has not shown you exactly how to work on which areas, please, I beg you, do not try! You only have one skin! Don’t spoil her! I’ll be honest and blunt: what they write in the form of “how to” on homemade hair removal products for sale is nonsense. These are too general recommendations that can harm you. If you really want to save money, get out the razor you threw there after reading the previous paragraph. And use it.

Choose a specialist

Yes, almost every decent salon offers hair removal services. But I ask you: collect references. Not all specialists (who call themselves specialists) have undergone the necessary training and do not have certificates attesting to their professionalism. Do not be lazy, sit on thematic forums, rummage in social network groups, chat with satisfied and dissatisfied salon customers. An excellent master is always worth his weight in gold.

The wax can only be hot

Only! Never be satisfied with cold hair removal, even if you are told that it is mega progressive and super effective. And no scratches. I heard about it – run! The pros work with dense, thick, hot wax, which is applied and removed by hand. And only so.

Walk a session in the pool

24 hours before the procedure, reduce water procedures to a hygienic minimum. The disinfectants in the pool water, the sea water dry out the skin a lot, and you have gone to so much trouble to soften it and moisturize it to the maximum! Don’t waste your efforts.

stop tanning

Do not expose the waxed areas to direct sunlight for at least two days after the procedure. Worried skin may react inadequately both to exposure to ultraviolet rays (and then there will be age spots) and to the application of sunscreen (it will clog the enlarged pores remaining in the place of the hair removed).

Watch out for the red dots

If, three days after depilation, you notice that there are still red spots on the treated areas, such as a small rash, bad luck: these are fragments of hair trying to burst. In other words, your master was not professional enough and part of the hair broke just below the edge of the skin. Change the masters, and take care of the skin in the same way as before hair removal: a daily exfoliant and lots of moisturizer.

Postpone the next procedure

No, there are no remedies that would stop hair growth. Alas. But you can slow down this process!

Take a painkiller

No matter how much they tell you that the professionals do everything painlessly… Why do you need the extra stress? An hour before the procedure, you can take the usual pill that helps you with sudden headaches. And everything will be much calmer!
