Hailey Bieber, 25, launched her own beauty brand, Rhode, just a week ago, and is already facing copyright infringement charges (Kim Kardashian’s beauty brand was in a similar rut last year). The lawsuit against the supermodel was filed by the American fashion brand Rhode NYC, founded back in 2014. Representatives of the brand are afraid that the emergence of a new brand with the same name will not affect their business in the best way. They argue that Bieber is misleading buyers: when tagging a brand account on social networks, customers get confused in identical names and put a link to Hailey’s brand. Thus, potential buyers are mistakenly sent to another brand’s page, while Rhode NYC loses potential sales.
We are still a young and growing company, we cannot compete with a celebrity, – brand representatives noted in a dialogue with Page Six, – We do not want to sue Hayley, we want to congratulate her on the launch of the brand. As fellow businesswomen, we wish her well. But Hayley could choose any name for her company, and we only have the brand that we have built.

However, court documents indicate that Bieber still tried to buy the brand name from the founders of the brand, Purna Khatau and Phoebe Vickers, but was refused. So, the model went around the rules, and arbitrarily assigned the name without thinking about the consequences.
Page Six reached out to representatives of the model for comment. Those, in turn, assure that the registration of the same name is legal. Moreover, Hayley’s middle name is Rhode, and she has every right to it.
Note that for Hailey Bieber the last month was not cloudless: in early June, her husband, pop star Justin Bieber got in touch with subscribers and frankly said that he had paralyzed half of his face. He published a video message in which he announced his diagnosis – Ramsay Hunt syndrome. These are complications of shingles that affect the facial nerve, causing hearing loss and severe pain. Justin has canceled the tour, and apparently will not be able to perform until he cures the disease.
