4 plastic surgeries that the crisis and the sanctions did not prevent from becoming even more popular

The sanctions have affected all areas of our lives. And aesthetic medicine is no exception! However, problems with the supply of implants and other necessary goods do not prevent the industry from developing further. Some plastic surgeries have even become even more in demand – we are talking about them.

4 plastic surgeries that the crisis and the sanctions did not prevent from becoming even more popular

In the spring of 2022, when Russia was shrouded in sanctions and the prices of everything started to rise steadily, it looked like women would stop thinking about their beauty. Surprisingly, this prediction did not come true. Not only do Russian women regularly dye their hair and do manicures, they even plan plastic surgery. Although they, of course, also increased in price.

Many argue logically: prices are rising, and I have saved money for this, or I have already managed to take out a loan. Where is the guarantee that in six months or a year the operation will not become too expensive for me?

Despite sanctions and problems with the supply of necessary products, Russian plastic surgeons today work with a large number of patients. And even notice the development of new trends! Plastic surgeon Pavel Golovanev told us which surgeries are in demand in 2022.

Buttock lipofilling

Many people want a nice, toned ass, but not everyone decides to have implants installed. Similarly, not everyone is comfortable spending time at the gym. This is where lipofilling comes to the rescue. The patient’s fat is taken from where it is not really needed – for example, from the sides – and moved to the buttocks. It is important for the doctor to evenly distribute the biomaterial so that there are no unnecessary bulges or sags.

Lipofilling uses general anesthesia. The operation itself takes up to 4 hours, depending on the extent of the procedure. The effect can be assessed after about six months, when the transplanted cells finally take root in a new place.

After buttock lipofilling, it is not recommended to lose weight, since weight loss will negatively affect the results of the operation.

Mammoplasty

Despite the sanctions, there is a high demand for mammaplasty among patients this year. The most popular types of this operation are now:

  • Augmentation mammoplasty (breast endoprosthesis)
  • reduction mammoplasty (reduction mammoplasty)
  • breast lift (mastopexy)
  • replacement of implants (redoprostheses)

In particular, the demand for mammaplasty has increased among women in childbirth. Girls want to tighten their breasts after feeding, eliminate asymmetries and other deformities. Full recovery after mammoplasty takes about a year on average, but it all depends on the specific type of intervention and the individual characteristics of the body.

Abdominoplasty

Another operation that is gaining popularity among women in labor is abdominoplasty. It is performed if the anterior abdominal wall is deformed. Moreover, in the case of abdominoplasty, we are not only talking about the aesthetic aspect, but also about the health of the patient. Because, for example, with the same diastasis there are high risks of hernia formation and prolapse of internal organs. So, if a woman’s rectus abdominis muscles have diverged to the sides, this is a clear path to tummy tuck. It is impossible to eliminate diastasis by other methods!

Abdominoplasty allows you to get rid of an apron of unsightly skin fat, tighten your stomach. Moreover, contrary to popular belief, the navel during an abdominoplasty is not transferred anywhere! It stays in place and simply forms on a new area of the skin flap.

This operation is performed under general anesthesia. The result can be assessed somewhere in six months, when the tissues take root in a new position and the seam heals. But the duration of the effect directly depends on the patient herself: whether she will take care of her body, monitor her nutrition and play sports.

Fat-conserving blepharoplasty

In Russia, this type of operation is only gaining momentum. Fat-conserving blepharoplasty helps to beautifully solve the problem of inevitable age-related changes.

Unlike conventional blepharoplasty, when excess fat is removed, with fat-sparing blepharoplasty they are distributed in a way that adds volume in all the right places, eliminates bruising under the eyes and hides the prominent nasolacrimal fold. With an insufficient amount of matter, fat is taken from other parts of the body.

This operation is well suited to elderly patients. The intervention is performed under local anesthesia – if it is not a complex operation, of course. Recovery is simple and fairly quick. The sutures are removed between the 5th and 7th day and the effect can be fully appreciated after about a month, when the bruising and swelling finally disappear and the scars turn white.
