I bet in the summer you automatically take a bottle with lemons or oranges in it? In our brain, the link “citrus = freshness” is too strong. It’s too much linked to our culture. And popular trends.

What if we thought that citrus fruits are not the best choice for summer?

Indeed, if you cannot imagine your image without aromas with notes of mandarin, grapefruit and clementine, wear them serenely. Just keep in mind that they will need to be updated more often than morning and evening.

The fact is that the compounds responsible for the smell of citrus fruits are among the most volatile. The rate of their evaporation is particularly affected by ambient temperature, humidity and wind. And on days when the asphalt is melting and you don’t want to get out from under the air conditioner, those notes will “fly away” almost instantly! True, they will leave a beautiful voluminous train at the same time. So the heat is no reason to spray yourself from a bottle, like from a shower head or a bottle of thermal water, don’t forget the perfume label!

If you’re not happy with how long your favorite scent lingers in the summer, try experimenting a bit with aquatic (it’s freshly refreshing) or oriental scents.

Do not be afraid of the notes of leather, oud, saffron and honey – after all, these notes, traditional in Arabic perfumery, tell us very strongly when they should be worn. And this, as you understand, is not the harsh Russian winters 🙂
