Black Eyed Peas, the American group currently formed by Will.i.am, Apl.de.ap and Taboo, thanked Brazilian fans on Wednesday, two days after performing at Rock in Rio 2026.
In an Instagram post, the band shared videos and photos of their favorite moments from the performance, along with a message of gratitude to the crowd.
The band wrote that their love for Rock in Rio went back a long way, and that they had so many moments from the show they would keep in their hearts forever, thanking fans for all the affection shown to them.
Many fans praised the performance in the comments, though several also asked the group to return to Brazil with Fergie included in the lineup. Fergie remains close to the band but has not performed with them professionally since mid-2017.
Her departure at the time was driven by her own wish to pursue other projects and motherhood. Shortly after announcing the split, she said she was focused on her solo career and the release of her second album, "Double Dutchess."
Life After Fergie
Since Fergie's exit, Black Eyed Peas has worked with other vocalists. Singer J. Rey Soul, the stage name of Jessica Reynoso, became the group's main featured female voice starting in 2018.
The Rock in Rio set also included a tribute to Sergio Mendes, the Brazilian musician and a personal friend of Will.i.am who died in 2024, as well as an appearance by DJ Papatinho. The band's setlist featured career hits including "I Gotta Feeling" and "Let's Get It Started."
Rock in Rio 2026
Now heading into its second weekend, the 2026 edition of Rock in Rio will still welcome acts including Demi Lovato, Maroon 5, Stray Kids and Twenty One Pilots over the coming week. The festival began on Friday, September 4, and is set to close on Sunday, September 13.
In its opening days, the event brought together Elton John, Gilberto Gil, Jon Batiste, Foo Fighters and Calvin Harris. While the lineup has been praised by the public, rainy weather in Rio de Janeiro has made things harder for attendees. With rain falling on nearly every day of the festival, fans have been enjoying the music in rain capes and rubber boots.
