Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz will no longer celebrate their original April 2022 wedding date as their official anniversary due to bad memories. The couple will now see their secret August 2025 vow renewal as their official anniversary as they continue to sever ties with his family.
The couple officially tied the knot at a three-day extravaganza at the Peltz family Palm Beach estate in April 2022 in front of 500 guests. Sources close to the couple claimed the event, which his family attended, is not an occasion they look back on fondly.
Brooklyn failed to post a tribute to Nicola on their original anniversary this April, while Nicola has never marked that date. Pointedly, the pair both marked their new anniversary in an Instagram post on Wednesday.

Instagram tributes and vow renewal
Marking the vow renewal on Tuesday, Brooklyn called the 31-year-old actress his "absolute princess" in a social media message. He penned: "Happy anniversary Nicola I can’t tell you how much I love you x you are my best friend and I love you more than life itself xx. I am so lucky to be able to call you my wife xx you are my absolute princess and I promise to always protect you xx."
Nicola also marked the anniversary online with her own tribute. She wrote: "happy anniversary my love you make life so beautiful. thank you for being the most amazing husband i could ever dream of."
In a scathing statement released in January, the eldest Beckham son explained that he and Nicola hosted a vow renewal without his family to create new memories that bring them joy and happiness after Victoria ruined their wedding. Brooklyn detailed the anxiety and embarrassment he felt when Victoria hijacked their first dance and called him "evil" when she was not seated at his table.
In his statement, Brooklyn wrote: "During the wedding planning, my mum went so far as to call me ''evil'' because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra, and Nicola's Naunni at our table, because they both didn't have their husbands. Both of our parents had their own tables equally adjacent to ours. The night before our wedding, members of my family told me that Nicola was "not blood" and "not family.""
Brooklyn also detailed how his mother intervened during the wedding reception. He wrote: "My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song."
They later renewed their vows in August 2025 and pointedly did not invite the Beckham family.
Brooklyn continued his description of the first dance in his January statement. He wrote: "In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead. She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I've never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life. We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment."
South of France getaway and family estrangement
Brooklyn narrowly missed running into his estranged parents in the South of France last week as the couple holidayed in the region. Brooklyn and Nicola joined his godfather Elton John on his yacht just a stone's throw from where his parents were staying.
Victoria and David Beckham were most recently seen on their £16million yacht in St Tropez, 75 miles away from their son, who stayed near Nice on Elton's boat. This marked the closest Brooklyn had been to his family in months as they holidayed along the French Riviera.
Once again, Brooklyn skipped his family's annual getaway on the £16million yacht after severing ties with his parents and siblings. Instead, he united with Elton John and his husband David Furnish, chatting on board the vessel and enjoying lunch on the sundeck.
The Beckhams and Elton John have been pals for more than 30 years, with David Beckham affectionately calling the musician "Uncle Elton" after they became friends during his football heyday. Yet Elton appeared to pledge an allegiance with Brooklyn and Nicola as they spent time together in France.
Before heading to the South of France, David and Victoria had been in the United States to watch the World Cup with Romeo, Kim, Harper, 15, Cruz, 21, and Cruz's girlfriend Jackie Apostel, 30. Despite living in California, Brooklyn avoided meeting up with his family amid their ongoing estrangement.
