Bruno Mars has scored his 12th number one single on the Billboard Radio Songs chart with his romantic ballad Risk It All.
The achievement extends the singer's record as the male artist with the most top-charting tracks in the history of the all-format radio ranking.
Data provided by music analytics firm Luminate showed that the single led the chart after drawing 67.7 million impressions between July 31 and August 6. The figure represented a 5 percent increase compared to the previous week's results.
The Radio Songs chart is published weekly by Billboard, the premier music trade publication in the United States. The ranking tracks audience listening figures across all broadcast radio formats nationwide.
Album Success and Chart Records
Risk It All is featured on Mars' latest studio album, The Romantic, which debuted at number one on the global Billboard 200 album chart upon its release last March. The Billboard 200 measures weekly album popularity in the United States based on multi-metric consumption, including physical sales, digital downloads, and audio streams.
Another track from the album, I Just Might, previously held the top spot on the Radio Songs chart for 21 weeks. The run established the longest period Mars has spent at number one with a single song on that chart during his career.
I Just Might also led Billboard's Pop Airplay chart for six weeks, a category focused on top 40 radio station plays. That six-week run matched the milestone Mars previously set several years ago with his hit single Uptown Funk.
Milestone Shared With Mariah Carey
The latest chart triumph puts Mars into an exclusive record group alongside American pop singer Mariah Carey. Mars and Carey are the only two artists in the history of the Radio Songs chart to produce four separate albums that each generated at least two number one singles.
Mars built that record across several studio projects. His album Unorthodox Jukebox reached the top of the chart with the singles Locked Out Of Heaven and When I Was Your Man.
His follow-up release, 24K Magic, topped the ranking with That's What I Like and Finesse, which featured guest vocals from rapper Cardi B.
His latest project, The Romantic, completed the landmark through the combined success of I Just Might and Risk It All.
Spanish Single and Super Bowl Legacy
The chart performance also highlights Mars' recent strategy aimed at Spanish-speaking audiences. A complete Spanish-language version of the single, titled Lo Arriesgo Todo, climbed to number three on Billboard's Latin Pop Airplay chart last June.
Chart records indicate that the position represents the highest spot Mars has achieved on that specific ranking to date.
Beyond his weekly chart rankings, Mars has established a lasting presence in American pop culture through his performances at the NFL Super Bowl Halftime Show, one of the most-watched television broadcasts in the world.
He headlined the main event in 2014, drawing some of the highest television viewing figures recorded up to that point. He returned to the event in 2016 as a featured guest artist alongside Beyoncé during a headlining set by British band Coldplay.
