Actress Millie Bobby Brown (“Stranger Things”) will publish her first book. Entitled “Nineteen Steps,” the book will be published by William Morrow, brand of HarperCollins, on September 12.
The book is described as an “epic story of love, loss and secrets” following young Nellie Morris, a girl who lives with her family in Bethnal Green during the Second World War. After a chance encounter between Nellie and an American aviator, a terrible accident with catastrophic consequences occurs during an air raid.
“Inspired by my grandmother Ruth, this book is very personal and close to my heart,” Brown said in a statement. “I grew up hearing stories from her about her time in the war. It’s an honor to keep her story alive.”
Brown’s grandmother survived the Bethnal Green tube disaster, an accident on the London Underground that was responsible for the largest number of civilian deaths in the United Kingdom during World War II.
“I was incredibly moved by the haunting, true tragedy at the heart of the novel and mesmerized by the unforgettable depiction of love in wartime,” said Liz Stein, the book’s editor.
“Nineteen Steps” does not yet have a release date in Brazil.
We will soon see Millie Bobby Brown in the fantasy “Damsel”, which will debut on October 13 on Netflix, and in the fifth and final season of “Stranger Things”, still without a release date.
