Sandy performed on Saturday night, 2, in Sao Paulo. However, what attracted the most attention in this penultimate show of the year was the maturity of the singer and her ex-husband Lucas Lima, who once again shared the stage and proved that it is possible to maintain a healthy relationship even after a separation.

“I don’t want controversy. Get used to it,” Sandy said, calling Lucas on stage at Vibra, in the southern area of the capital of Sao Paulo.

They sang together Wait for me AND Sand, compositions by the two. Despite the lyrics salvaging some of the former couple’s history, the singers didn’t seem to show any discomfort in being there. On the contrary, they were good together and hugged at least three times. Not as a sign of a supposed reconciliation, as many fans hope and some journalists hypothesize. It is a demonstration of affection and mutual respect after 24 years of relationship, 15 of which were married.

The relationship between man and woman is over, but there continues to be an eternal bond between them: their 9-year-old son Theo. And it’s good that this (no longer loving) relationship remains respectful and harmonious. It would be great if all ex-couples were like this, right?

“The best barista you respect,” Sandy said at the end of the introductions, referring to Lucas, a coffee enthusiast. “Theo’s best mother,” the youngest son of the Lima family later said in praise of the singer.

Sandy also took the opportunity to highlight their long professional collaboration. “Almost all the songs in this repertoire were written by the two of us, except for two or three.”

Out of the spotlight, Lucas’ demonstration of affection for Xororó’s daughter could also be seen. Before going on stage, Theo’s father watched the show on the Isle of Sound and Light. In the crowd he sang, applauded, took photos, had fun and cheered a lot for Sandy. Among the fans he felt a lot of excitement. Some express their thoughts on the reason for the separation, others root for the separation. There were also those who were against reconciliation. My hope, though, is that they are happy.

And Sandy seems really intent on going in search of happiness. “I will make up for it as many times as necessary”, she said to herself at a certain point in the show, dedicated to the meetings and reunions of her life. “I learned a lot professionally and personally from all of them.”
