Francisco Aparecido Dias demands R$47,000 for using his images without authorization. Xuxa’s former photographer claims that images he took were used in the documentary series without his permission. He says that two portraits taken during the years in which he worked with the presenter were used in different episodes.

The photographer said that he, Xuxa, Endemol and Globo also negotiated the licensing of images for the documentary, but that they never reached any financial agreement. He also revealed that it is not the first time that his images have been used inappropriately by the presenter.
The production is available on Globoplay and was broadcast on TV Globo in January this year. Dias said he was harmed by the presenter. “Between October and November last year, several emails and messages detailing what happened were exchanged with representatives of the defendants, but no resolution was provided. […] In the end they concluded that the best thing would be for the plaintiff to try to assert his rights in court,” say the plaintiff’s lawyers.
The conciliation hearing has been set for May 7 so that the parties involved can try to reach an agreement.
Wanted by EstadaoTHE Rede Globo said it would not comment on the matter. The presenter and Endemol Shine Brasil did not reciprocate contact. The space remains open.
