The 60-year-old model could win Miss Universe Argentina this Saturday; see competition criteria

Alejandra Rodriguezat 60 years old, he won the title of the 2024 edition of Miss Universe Buenos Aires on April 21st. With the victory, the model competes today for the national title of Miss Argentina – and if she wins, she will have the opportunity to represent the country in the international competition.

“I came to the competition by chance, through a friend who discovered the inclusive competition, without age limits,” Alejandra told the Argentine newspaper. Until last year, only participants up to 28 years of age could aspire to the title. In an interview with the ClarinKeno Manzur, organizer of the event, said it was possible that an older candidate would win. “If the candidate has a good interview, is well evaluated, knows how to explain her life story well, inspires other women, is an example to follow, has a good show, disposition, availability, elegance on stage, security and confidence, obviously who can win,” he said.

Furthermore, he believes that candidates must earn the public’s pride. For him it is important that “Argentine women feel proud of their representation and identify themselves [com ela]”, he said.

Evaluation criteria

• Preliminary competition: Stop which took place last Thursday, the 23rd. Each candidate shows up in a swimsuit, demonstrating confidence; and in formal wear, when grace and elegance are valued. Alejandra did not win any of these categories.
• Interview: Stage that took place last Friday, the 24th. Each candidate tells their story, how they want to inspire people and why they want the title of Miss Universe Argentina. With this, the jury can ask questions related to the candidate’s personal life, to evaluate whether she could represent all women in the country.
• I commit: The candidate must show responsibility, with sympathy and gratitude towards the brands and people who support her.
