Francisco Cuoco died on Thursday (June 19), at the age of 91, and his trail was held in San Paolo, in a ceremony open to fans and the family. The youngest son of the actor, Diogo Cuoco, spoke with the press and shared exciting details in the last moments of his father.
According to Diogo, Cuoco was sedated and surrounded by family members before dying. “We would like to say that we are naturally sad, dismayed, but that we are at peace. My father has made the passage very silent, very peaceful,” he said.
However, during the trail, Diogo stressed that the artist’s long life is mainly due to the passion for the boat. “I think that the longevity he has had is very closely linked to him after finding this purpose, this profession that he loved so much and that he has made with a lot of love and dedication. Many times, for us, it is difficult to understand the dimension he had,” he said.
The youngest also underlined his father’s personality from the cameras. “It was exactly the same person. Extremely humble, a generous and kind person. Living with him was fantastic,” he said. He added: “We saw many people who said it repeatedly. It was a feature, in fact. So we are sure that it remains in us, remains in life in the family, children, grandchildren, fans.”
The farewell ceremony was marked by honors and strong presence of family members and professional colleagues. The coffin, held open, was surrounded by garlands, including a correspondent by Rede Globo, an issuer with whom Cuoco worked since the 70s.
