DAZN has launched a promotional subscription package offering its entire football portfolio for 14.99 euros per month for the 2026-27 season, as free-to-air LaLiga matches in Spain move away from traditional digital terrestrial television.
The sports streaming platform is offering the discounted annual plan with monthly split payments until September 20, covering top European domestic leagues alongside Spanish competitions.
The new campaign comes as top-flight football returns across Europe. Domestic seasons in Portugal, Belgium, the Netherlands and Spain have already kicked off, with league action in England, France and Italy scheduled to start this week.
Under the 14.99 euro monthly tier, subscribers gain access to five LaLiga EA Sports matches per matchday across 35 of the 38 rounds. The package also includes full coverage of the English Premier League, Italian Serie A, German Bundesliga, French Ligue 1, Dutch Eredivisie, Portuguese Primeira Liga and Belgian Jupiler Pro League, as well as Spanish second-tier LaLiga Hypermotion and third-tier Primera Federacion.
DAZN is aiming to solidify its position as the premier global sports streaming platform by expanding its multi-sport offerings. Alongside its football catalog, the service is providing an expanded subscription tier for 25.99 euros per month, also on an annual split-payment plan available until September 20.
The expanded package includes full coverage of Formula 1, MotoGP, NASCAR and World Superbikes, as well as American sports broadcasts. Basketball fans receive 180 regular season NBA games, the All-Star Weekend, playoffs, Conference Finals and the NBA Finals on demand, alongside complete coverage of Spain's ACB basketball competitions, including the Liga Endesa, Copa del Rey and Supercopa Endesa. NFL coverage features five weekly games, the playoffs, Super Bowl, Game Time and the English-language RedZone channel.
Shift from free television to app streaming
The start of the 2026-27 campaign marks another structural change for Spanish football viewers. LaLiga EA Sports will once again begin the season without any free-to-air live match broadcasts on Spain's free digital terrestrial television network, known as TDT.
While DAZN continues to hold the rights to show one free match per matchday, viewers must now watch the broadcast through the platform's website or dedicated mobile application. Watching the free game requires users to register for a free DAZN account, removing the match from linear television channels.
The shift mirrors the distribution strategy used at the beginning of the previous season, when free matches were initially unavailable on traditional television before public broadcaster RTVE secured rights to show second-half fixtures on its dedicated sports channel, Teledeporte.
The decision to remove live matches from linear television follows strong viewership figures for free-to-air football on Teledeporte. RTVE's sports channel achieved its highest monthly audience rating in history in February, driven by coverage of the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympic Games and domestic football broadcasts.
Ratings data showed that Teledeporte attracted 337,000 viewers for a LaLiga fixture between Real Mallorca and Sevilla, while a match featuring Athletic Club against Elche drew 315,000 viewers. Despite losing live matches for now, Teledeporte will continue broadcasting LaLiga highlight packages alongside other live sporting events.
Upcoming free LaLiga fixture schedule
The subscription platform has confirmed its initial lineup for free matchday broadcasts. The season opened on Matchday 1 with a 1-1 draw between RC Deportivo de A Coruña and Elche, which was streamed free to registered users.
Subsequent free broadcasts on DAZN include Athletic Club against Sevilla on August 22 for Matchday 2, followed by Racing Club versus Elche on August 28 for Matchday 3. Matchday 4 will feature Espanyol taking on Sevilla on September 6.
It remains unconfirmed whether RTVE and DAZN will reach an agreement later in the season to return live LaLiga matches to free-to-air digital television.
