Eastern suburbs socialite Dina Broadhurst, long regarded as one of Sydney's leading 'It' girls, has returned home after her brief new life in Ibiza came to an abrupt end following the breakdown of her relationship with German boyfriend Danny Tchalaby.
A source familiar with the relationship told the Daily Mail that Tchalaby and Broadhurst split for an all-too-familiar reason: he did not like her remaining close to her ex-partners, whom she reportedly referred to as her "support network".
The eastern suburbs, a cluster of affluent harbourside pockets including Double Bay and Point Piper, have long been the backdrop to Broadhurst's social life and her headline-making romances.
Rumours that the pair had gone their separate ways emerged last month, just weeks after it was reported they were living together in Ibiza, the Spanish island long favoured by Europe's wealthy as a summer retreat.
How the relationship unfolded
According to the insider, Tchalaby and Broadhurst began spending significant time together earlier this year before relocating together to Ibiza for the European summer.
During that period, the source claims Tchalaby paid for his older girlfriend's luxury travel, supported her business interests and added her to the lease on his rental property on the island.
But the insider says things had turned by May, amid disagreements over her social life, with Tchalaby allegedly telling her he "just wanted her out".
By late June, the pair were effectively done, according to the source. At one point there was reportedly an attempt to repair the relationship before the two ultimately decided to part ways.
There were allegedly "practical issues" surrounding Broadhurst vacating the rental, which the source said drew the break-up out.
Soon after they officially ended things, paparazzi photographs taken in Ibiza emerged linking Broadhurst to wealthy German artist Niclas Castello, who is known internationally for large-scale gold sculptures, including a cube unveiled in New York's Central Park.
Spotted back in Sydney
Broadhurst is now back in Sydney, having been spotted with her son Leo in Double Bay on 23 August, marking her first public sighting since returning to Australia.
She stepped out in a low-cut tank top tucked into a pair of $1,800 Jil Sander jeans.
Broadhurst completed the look with a pair of pointed white Bottega Veneta shoes worth about $900 and Jacquemus sunglasses valued at roughly $400, while carrying a grey cardigan.
Her dark hair was swept back into an updo as she walked arm-in-arm with her son.
Leo, whom Broadhurst shares with musician and wellness figure Nick Broadhurst, wore a casual look of blue jeans and a white Ralph Lauren shirt.
A history of high-profile romances
Broadhurst's relationships have long made headlines. Before Tchalaby, she was on and off with John "Herman" Winning Jr, the playboy heir to the Winning Appliances fortune. Winning Appliances is a major Australian retailer of kitchen and laundry appliances founded by the Winning family.
During one of her "off" periods with Winning, she had a fling in Paris with former Love Island star Kengi Meert. Love Island is the British reality dating show that has produced a string of tabloid romances since it launched.
She previously dated property developer Max Shepherd for several years. After the pair broke up, they completed renovations to a Darling Point apartment they had shared, which they went on to sell for about $8 million.
Shepherd has since moved on with Hannah Waites, a DJ and executive business manager at technology investment firm Future Now Capital.
While Broadhurst's colourful love life has continued to draw attention, her son Leo has remained the one constant throughout.
