Country singer Ella Langley has undergone a dramatic visual transformation as her hit single Choosin' Texas continues to dominate the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The 27-year-old Alabama-born performer, who previously looked like an average small-town girl in early videos, is now one of the biggest names in country music with a distinct 1970s-inspired aesthetic.
A resurfaced TikTok video from 2022 shows Langley looking completely unrecognizable compared to her current image. In the clip, the singer appears with mousy brown hair, no makeup, and without her signature brunette bangs.
Online fans have reacted with support for the star's evolution in recent weeks. One social media user wrote: "She's a country girl from Alabama! I love that she got her superstar glow up. She's absolutely stunning."
Another fan commented: "If I had a professional doing my makeup and hair, and had that income for luxury items, better food, etc. I would have a major glow up too." A third wrote: "Have you seen the before and after of Morgan Wallen? It's the same with all artists. They all glow up when they get styling, hair, make up etc. Why are we just comparing women?"
Today, the chart-topping artist is known for her bombshell bangs, glossy makeup, and designer wardrobe.
Just a few years before taking over the Billboard charts, Langley maintained a far more understated look.
The Alabama-born songstress was pictured playing with her dogs outdoors several years before achieving global fame.
She also looked completely different while performing without her signature bangs during concerts in 2022.
How a DIY Haircut Changed Langley's Career
Langley first began leaning into a more glamorous image with the release of her debut studio album, Hungover, in August 2024. Her signature brunette bangs made their first appearance that year in the music video for her hit country song You Look Like You Love Me.
In an interview on Theo Von's This Past Weekend podcast, Langley admitted that getting bangs "changed my life" and boosted her career. She explained that she never intended to debut the striking look, which happened organically after she tried to cut her own hair before a concert.
Another major factor in Langley's transformation is Botox, which she has been receiving in her jaw to treat TMJ for the past few years. Facial Botox in the jaw can alter face shape and help create a more V-shaped jawline.
Langley's face looked noticeably different in 2023 before she began getting jaw Botox treatments, and she had not yet fully established her signature look when stepping out in early 2024.
The Creative Team Behind the Country 'n Western Rebrand
Key figures behind Langley's image are her creative director, Caylee Robillard, and her stylist, Stefani Colvin. Together, the pair helped create the singer's '70s-inspired country 'n western wardrobe.
Colvin spoke to Country Living about developing Langley's look over the past three years. She recalled starting work with the artist when Langley had around 100,000 followers, collaborating to find her vibe and vision. Colvin noted that Langley sometimes tells her, "I'm your Barbie doll," while they experiment with styling.
Colvin explained that Langley's fashion is less about specific brands and more about overall vibe. The singer loves both modern and vintage Roberto Cavalli as well as traditional Western pieces.
Colvin also emphasized that Langley's distinct style helped her break through in the music industry. "People are realizing how much farther you can go when you have an identifiable brand," Colvin said. "Country music is being taken more seriously. Ella's music would be successful regardless, music always comes first, but having a strong visual identity makes everything more powerful."
She added: "You can hear her music and think about her outfits, her glam, her creative direction, and her music videos. It all becomes one cohesive package. That's something she invested in early, and it's paying off."
Record-Breaking Chart Success and Album Sales
Langley's visual transformation accompanies historic success on the music charts. Her breakout hit Choosin' Texas recently spent its 20th non-consecutive week at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It is now the second-longest running chart-topper in United States history, behind Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas Is You.
Langley currently holds two other songs in the top ten of the Hot 100: Be Her, and I Can't Love You Anymore with Morgan Wallen. Her sophomore album, Dandelion, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in April and is the second best-selling album of 2026 so far.
The star has also made bold fashion statements on major red carpets in 2026. In March, she wore a plunging mini-dress to the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
In April, Langley wore a Schiaparelli suit flown in from Paris for the Billboard Women in Music Awards.
Historic Sweep at the 2026 ACM Awards
Langley's chart dominance culminated in May at the 2026 Academy of Country Music Awards, where she nabbed seven awards. The achievement set an ACM record for the most wins in a single year by an artist.
The Hope Hull native was named Artist-Songwriter of the Year and Female Artist of the Year. Choosin' Texas won Song of the Year and Single of the Year, while Don't Mind if I Do, her collaboration with Riley Green, was named Music Event of the Year.
In her acceptance speech for Song of the Year, an emotional Langley told the crowd she was "at a loss for words," adding: "I'm trying to get to say something but I can't."
Accepting the honor for Female Artist of the Year, Langley acknowledged three of the four women nominated alongside her: Lainey Wilson, Miranda Lambert, and Kelsea Ballerini. Nominee Megan Moroney was not named in the speech.
"Thank you to the women in this category - to the women in this life. This is a weird thing to do," Langley told the audience. She shared: "And today, I was having a strange day.. I walked right into Lainey's room and she hugged me."
She continued: "And all of a sudden, here comes Miranda Lambert in her pink hat.. Kelsea, thank you so much for lovin' on me. I would not be standing up here without the encouragement of so many women."
Langley added: "Thank you to the women - I would not be standing up here without them - so, thank you." She also thanked her family "for showing up and being weird as always" and expressed gratitude to Jesus Christ "for letting me do this for a living."
