Actress and comedian Emily Atack showed off her weight loss in a lycra unitard on Instagram on Thursday while updating fans on her countryside home.
The 36-year-old flaunted her figure in the figure-hugging outfit just months after facing accusations of using weight loss jabs.
Alongside the photograph displaying her unitard, Atack gave followers an update on the ongoing renovation of her new property in Bedfordshire. She recently moved out of London with her partner Alistair Garner and their two-year-old son Barney to settle in an idyllic village located roughly 15 minutes from the childhood home of her actress mother, Kate.
The family's countryside house features high ceilings with architrave, wooden flooring, huge windows, and exposed brick walls. In her latest social media update, Atack highlighted a new burgundy staircase alongside ivy-patterned wallpaper.
"Particularly loving this area of the house at the moment and all the colours. I smile every time I look at these tiles from Original Style," Atack wrote.
Bedfordshire, situated in the East of England north of London, is a historic ceremonial county. Atack's mother, Kate Robbins, is a well-known British actress and singer, while Original Style is a Devon-based British tile manufacturer established in Exeter.
Body image and motherhood
The social media update follows previous candid comments from Atack regarding public scrutiny of her body. Just months after giving birth to her son, the star revealed she was inundated with questions about her weight but refused to rush back to the gym.
Speaking to Jamie Laing on his Great Company podcast in November 2024, Atack explained how having a child shifted her perspective on her physique.
"There's something quite liberating about having a baby. Your body goes through so much and you genuinely look at your body as a completely different vessel," she said.
"Being pregnant and being desexualised, looking at your body, you create a human inside you, then you give birth to your child - which by the way is mental - you get home and the first thing people say to you is, "When are you going to get back in the gym?" Are you kidding? I've just created a human, I am exhausted! I've just tried to push a human out of me and had it ripped out of my stomach."
"The last thing I want to do is go to the gym but the first thing you're expected to do is get back into shape," she added. "Where's the "congratulations for being a mother"? Instead it's "when are you going to get the baby weight off"... I'm not back at the gym at the minute, I've actually put on more weight since giving birth. I'm just enjoying this bit."
Great Company is an interview podcast hosted by television personality Jamie Laing, who first gained public attention on the reality show Made in Chelsea.
Breakout role in The Inbetweeners
During her podcast conversation, Atack also recalled how she had always maintained a healthy relationship with her weight until landing her breakout role as Charlotte Hinchcliffe in The Inbetweeners.
Despite being a size eight at the time, she was shocked by the overwhelming online reaction to her body.
"Everybody started talking about my weight," she explained. "There was a whole Facebook page dedicated to me/Charlotte Hinchcliffe. I couldn't believe how awful it was, people talking about my weight."
"People would then try and be positive and say, "At least we're seeing curvier girls now playing sexier roles on television". I didn't even know I was curvy!" she continued.
"I was a size eight, a tiny little body, but to some people it was the first time they'd seen a girl that wasn't really, really skinny. They were used to seeing very underweight actresses playing the sexy girls."
The Inbetweeners, created by Damon Beesley and Iain Morris, originally aired on E4 for three seasons between 2008 and 2010 before producing two film spin-offs. The series followed four high school friends: Will McKenzie, Simon Cooper, Jay Cartwright, and Neil Sutherland. Following her breakout role, Atack built a career as a comedy star, runner-up on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in 2018, and team captain on Celebrity Juice.
Reboot reports and Netflix movie
The update from Atack comes after reports revealed that producers of The Inbetweeners are desperate to sign her for a reboot of the comedy franchise.
A new Inbetweeners movie is reportedly on the horizon, with all four core members of the cast set to return. According to a report by The Sun, main actors Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley, and Blake Harrison have all signed on the dotted line to star in a third movie for Netflix.
However, the newspaper also reported that streaming bosses are not satisfied with only the main men returning, and want Atack to reprise her role as Charlotte "Big Jugs" Hinchcliffe.
The potential return comes as a surprise after Atack was axed from an Inbetweeners reunion five years ago following a past fling with James Buckley.
