Facundo Moyano arrested in Buenos Aires after street chase

Argentine police arrested former lawmaker Facundo Moyano in Buenos Aires after he chased blogger Candela Arisaga through the streets while shouting about love, news outlet Need To Know reported.

The incident occurred on Aug. 4 at around 5:00 a.m. in the Belgrano neighborhood. Witnesses said Arisaga, a 23-year-old blogger who was in a romantic relationship with Moyano, ran out of a residential complex in her underwear. Moyano, a 41-year-old former member of parliament and head of the toll road workers' union, chased her down the street while shouting the word love.

Police Investigation and Arrest

Police detained both individuals shortly after the chase, noting that both showed clear signs of drug intoxication. Officers arrested Moyano on assault charges after finding that Arisaga had a leg injury. Investigators also located drug paraphernalia inside Moyano's apartment.

Moyano remains under investigation for assault and illegal deprivation of liberty. Arisaga said that Moyano did not hit her, explaining that she hurt her leg when she fell because of a hallucination.

The report added that in a separate previous incident, a New Zealand politician joined an online city council meeting from a bathtub, where the mayor and fellow council members noticed underwear drying in the background.
