Gilmara Sanches is dead. Older viewers will remember her as a judge on the “Show de Talentos Anônimos”, hosted by Silvio Santos on SBT. She would have turned 75 in June.
Her career began at the age of 11 as an actress in teletheatres. She has been part of the cast of important soap operas, such as ‘Meu Rico Português’ (TV Tupi) and ‘Sangue do meu Sangue’ (TV Excelsior).
It inspired her younger sister, Elaine Cristina (Madeleine from the first version of ‘Pantanal’ and Helena Kruger from ‘Chiquititas’), to also pursue a career in television drama.
After stepping away from television studios, Gilmara began to pursue voice acting as an actress and director. She has lent her voice to successful characters, such as Marin from “Knights of the Zodiac”, Jenny from “Pokémon” and Lois Lane in “Superman: The Animated Series”.
